Glyuen 3rd Gear April 9, 2006 Share April 9, 2006 Hi Bros, Couldn't find any opinions on the above. Since such mats are quite ex, (at least $60), why reason for replacing the original car mats to these aftermarket mats? ↡ Advertisement
Pioneer 4th Gear April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 I think becoz these mats can trap dust and dirt better, so u wont get so much dust and dirt on the floor of the car itself..
Nutty 4th Gear April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 Yup. They are pretty useful in trapping dirts. I bought them coz my original carpet is beige color. Easily dirty. Anyway, mine was a group buy from Honda Forum. Cost me only $28. (3M lookalike)
Burgerdog Neutral Newbie April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 Another reason is cos if it rains and you get into the car and wet the original car mats, if you don't sun and clean them regularly, they stink after a while. Plus the original car mats fray after some time.
Soya Supersonic April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 personally, i find those mats quite cheapo looking. prefer the stock carpet mats anytime.
Gtsfreak Neutral Newbie April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 Yupz agreed bro. My daughter once vomitted in the car and on the original mat, which is like carpet. It's difficult to clean also. The current ones that I am using, U can just spray it with water and it will dry up fast, with no smell or stains on it.
Glyuen 3rd Gear April 10, 2006 Author Share April 10, 2006 is it only 3M mats which are able to trap dust better? tot those imitation ones cannot do it as well as 3M...
Nutty 4th Gear April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 Mine is those imitation type. Still doing the job well after 6mths. Hmm... maybe 3M ones last longer bah.
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 My last original 3M last me almost 5 years before the driver side torn due to my shoe heel friction but the rest of the mats was still in very good conditon
Carstyle Neutral Newbie April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 (edited) <-- personally, i find those mats quite cheapo looking. prefer the stock carpet mats anytime. --> I also thought the same at first, but after checking it out at the store and buying custom cut from the forum here, it actually looked ok. The 3M one is thick, soft and feels like cushion under your feet, even better than carpet. Very practical and extremely easy to clean. Vit4wd 1st Gear April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 Your Sunny drinks a lot, shd not have problems adding up the points at Shell
Lanceteo Neutral Newbie April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 they dont stink whn it rains if u dun sun them. it traps dirt better. and u get dirt out of it easier too. most dirt will be stuck on the mat unlike the original ones they tend to fall off the in to the car and u have to do additional cleaning, ex vacuuming
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie April 10, 2006 Share April 10, 2006 correct, it drinks but I still can tahan for it to drink. Using Shell was like 5 years ago, that time was driving B13, B13 was not that thirsty.
