Eazterence Neutral Newbie April 7, 2006 Share April 7, 2006 Hi Guys..I've got 2 choices now..Sinota/Simota Drop-In Air Filter at S$70.VSHurricane Drop-In Air Filter at S$90.Both Brand New. Anybody tried these two? Any comments which is better? Lets not look at the Figures. I just want comments about the Performance, Fuel Efficiency. I heard that Hurricane Filter have bigger holes in the filter, which means more dust can get thru' it. Any comments..? ↡ Advertisement

Carmodz Neutral Newbie April 7, 2006 Share April 7, 2006 hurricane is 50 microns. some brands claim as small as 4 microns. i did a comparison b4 for 3 filters. one was hurricane. the other 2 brands not too nice to disclose. I chose hurricane although its more expensive. why? 1. stainless steel mesh made in japan, not taiwan 2. 50 microns may not seem that small when compared to stock air filter, but honestly, if u want more airflow, the holes gonna get slightly bigger. 3. 2 two brands that claim got 20 and 4 microns were crap. Can slot a strand of hair through. human adult hair averages from 80-90 microns. 4. in terms of performance, im happy ah. smoother engine, livelier engine, improved pick up. hope this helps. Eazterence Neutral Newbie April 7, 2006 Author Share April 7, 2006 (edited) Made in Japan and Taiwan.. I think this difference doesn't make alot of differences ba? Simota is it in on of the 2 choices? Lolz.. I'm now abit towards Hurricane as its a better brand that people recommend also.. =) Edited April 7, 2006 by Eazterence
Carmodz Neutral Newbie April 7, 2006 Share April 7, 2006 hmm..well quality does matter my fren. and the mesh count also. the thinner the wires, the more compact the mesh count and thus, better filtration. there are some reasons i cant disclose openly. im not working for any filter brand, jus that i managed to see some tests done. anyway 70 is a good price still. Dfx16 6th Gear April 7, 2006 Share April 7, 2006 (edited) More air input = more dust input (common saying) More dust input = engine in long run K&N need to be oil average every 20K That's about 6 months once for most average drivers So its not that ma fai afterall Bro if u wanna more air input why not do it our specialise way Hook a 90mm delta focus flow Confirm fly Edited April 7, 2006 by Dfx16
