Conned Clutched April 3, 2006 Share April 3, 2006 I dun think its categorized as that ..perhaps de Superb they pegged in Uk is de 1.9TDI vs de IS250. The 1.8T we have here is rare in EUR bekoz diesel is more frugal & value for $. I thikn they use either weight or CC to peg..as wat JC said in one episode of TC. but ..well done ..SKODA! haha.. I honestly dun think de SUperb in " Comfort " class is less comfy or less exec than de IS. jus MHO..
Tashi Clutched April 3, 2006 Share April 3, 2006 (edited) hi bro Conned Agree with you about the internal comfort of Skoda Superb. It is just as good as any in the executive/mid-sized class, imho. the IS is nice, but it sure costs a LOT more than the Superb. To each I guess. BTW, the President oF Czech Republic uses a black Superb (or get chauffeured around). hehe..... presidential limo. Kevinlapon Neutral Newbie April 3, 2006 Author Share April 3, 2006 True, Superb has both the comfort and the executiveness as you say but I think the IS came out top because of the performance and other functions when compared? I'm not sure just assuming here. The 1.9TDI is quite a guess like what you said, diesel is more used in Europe unlike in Asia.
W210k 1st Gear April 3, 2006 Share April 3, 2006 Yes IS200 highest reliability is very true Now mine 3+ years with 90,000 km and yet no problems at all. Just the normal servicing every 10,000 km. Nothing replaced yet even ... except for 1 dim headlight bulb. Engine super smooth as ever, idling at a mere 600 rpm. Fantastic car! p.s. The way I drive is usually at full throttle wherever permitting, with the "Power" button on.

I'm sure TopGear is comparin de ousted jag Xj against the IS250/300 or even IS430! n not de IS200.otherwise its not fair. I mean..last yr Tc cited MX5 as the 2nd Best sportscar leavin cars like the BMW M3 nd de Skyline R34 way behind and now its de S2000?..after a year S2000 suddenly became a winner even though it has no mods or new version?.. so in de end .IMHO is ..if u like n are contented wz de ride tat is park now in ur garage or MSCP..then jus be happi with it !survey or no survey . no offence to anyone who posted here. but as skodians urselves..pat urselves in de back for choosin a understated brand taht has 3 winners in one survey. Rickster 5th Gear April 4, 2006 Share April 4, 2006 Skodas r good! Just came back from Israel for work yesterday and all the taxis there are mostly Octavias or VW golfs! U can see some of the skoda taxis are really old and beat-up vehicles but its very stable and those drivers drives up to 150Kph on the highway there. Guess the Octavias muz have been a very durable and reliable workhorse. The sheer number of Octy taxis speak for themselves! In Israel, 90% of taxis = Octys, 10% = VW.
