Need some advice from the ICE gurus here [sweatdrop]

Current speakers set-up:

Rainbow (front) and Lanzar (rear) components;

2 ch JBL amp for front components

My sound-tech is advising me to add in a bass-tube, a 4 ch amp and a pre-amp to complete my ICE [sweatdrop]

Is a 4 ch amp really necessary? [gossip]

yes. if u intend to blast it up a bit. but tink yur setup a bit wrong alreadi.

would rec u to use yur 2 channel amp to power the bass tube , and 4ch amp

to power yur front and rear speakers. [;)] pre amp is used to tune

different songs eg, heavy bass or rich vocals...

Actually, to switch or not will depend on the spec of the new amp you are getting.

You can either get a 4ch amp or a 2ch amp.

With a new 4ch amp, use 2ch (either from the 2ch amp or the 4ch amp) to power the front, 2ch to run the rear and bridge 2ch to run the sub.

With a new 2ch amp, use 2ch (either from the new or existing amp) to power the front, bridge 2ch to run the sub and use the HU to power the rear.

[edited] or discard the existing 2ch and get a new 4ch amp. Then configure as above.

Pre-amp will be recommended if the HU does not offer much tuning capability.

personal recommendation is, get a 4 channel for 4 component, a monoblock for bass. but if you are using bass tube like i am, maybe you can try looking for pyle tubes. It has a build in amp. so will sound better even without the monoblock.

as for preamp, sometimes its because your headset does not have a connection for bass, so pre amp is better for adjustments

Hmm, how much did you pay for your 'tube'? [sly]

For HU, I'm using the Pioneer 8015 [;)] - it has some connections to the bass, but was thinking if the pre-amp's affordable, can get one for easy 'tuning' [sly]

my tube is free. my friend took my 12" cerwin and pass me his pyle coz my vitara cannot take woofer, no space.

as for pre-amp's, ok lah, JBL if i not wrong is around $200.

my config, 4 channel and a tube, a preamp

My boot space also very very small, at most can only take the 8" tube.

Thanks for the advice [thumbsup]
