Vroomvroom 2nd Gear March 15, 2006 Share March 15, 2006 Hi, I checked on papers and need confirmation. Kelisa is currently the cheapest car at $34.9K (M). Thats really affordable for a Point A to B car and on top of that, I heard the Manual version is pretty powerful. But is the price on their website accurate? Will test drive this sat. Hope someone can help in my questions. My questions are 1) What is the minimum loan and loan period for Perodua cars? 2) If I am getting an OPC (w some DP), my loan amount will probably be less than 15k. I wonder if i can still get freebies or cash discount from the SE. Pls advice and let me know what are the freebies that most people will ask for. (I would think for such a small car, there is no need for reverse sensor and car alarm). Can some kind soul PM me their deals and what they manage to get from the SE? 3) Is the stock tyre of kelisa 14 or 13inch? As there are no safety features on the car, I would think a good pair of stock tyre would help. (No intention to do alot of unnec modding) Thanks alot and looking fwd to your reply! ↡ Advertisement
L9turbo Neutral Newbie March 15, 2006 Share March 15, 2006 I can only help out on your 3rd question: 14" now as standard. The stock rubbers are not that good.... AS for the power, its lesser than the 1st batch.. and uses more petrol that the older batches... Pop the hood.. and you can see the pre FL and the FL models are different. Mainly on the ECU and the trottle body. The FL models have a smaller trottlebody. But all these being said.. its still a fun car to drive.
Vroomvroom 2nd Gear March 15, 2006 Author Share March 15, 2006 hmmm...it seems like the FL model actually makes the car worser? surely they must have make some good out of the FL model isnt it? Hmmmm....

Vroomvroom 2nd Gear March 15, 2006 Author Share March 15, 2006 got....slightly more ex though.. i was thinking since going for OPC, which means not driving car much, might as well just go for the cheapest. I just need a set of 4 wheels to ferry me from pt A to pt B. If can save that few K, I will try to.
L9turbo Neutral Newbie March 15, 2006 Share March 15, 2006 I dunno abt that. Cos i drive the Pre FL.. my friend drives the FL model. We did a camparison... and it seems power and FC is worst abit. But dunt take my word for it. Go test drive it first. But i will recommend the new MyVi.
Vit4wd 1st Gear March 15, 2006 Share March 15, 2006 Picanto now costs S$3K more at S$38K. Used to be selling at S$34K just in Jan at its lowest price. Kelisa is very nippy for city driving & is sufficient for S'pore's speed limits.
Kanchelsk 2nd Gear March 15, 2006 Share March 15, 2006 ya i saw his postin that he jus need a weekend OPC car... so kelisa fits the bills... cheap, powerful, reliable...
Burgerdog Neutral Newbie March 15, 2006 Share March 15, 2006 if u really want to save, standard chartered is actually offering loans of a low fixed interest rates for a maximum of 5 years (up to 4 times your mthly salary). So if let's say you can loan 10k from them at 2.39%, plus the 17k OPC rebate, you can easily shave off 27k from the car price. If you have a substantial DP to cover the remainder, then you don't even have to worry about the car loan. Cos from what i heard, the interest rates for car loans is going up again. I wouldn't worry too much for the freebies. Most of these you can get from outside vendors for half or sometimes even a third of the price stated by the car dealers. better to save on the interest payments... Vroomvroom 2nd Gear March 15, 2006 Author Share March 15, 2006 thats really good. but in the first place...i am concern they would force me to take the in-house insurance. if they dont, than i will surely take up that standard chartered lobang. Wbucket Clutched March 15, 2006 Share March 15, 2006 Don't expect much freebies now, especially since you are getting OPC. But hold back your option and maybe you can trick them into throwing some discount items before you tell them you are getting an OPC. Car alarm and center-locking are default. At cheap price, I only know of those who got a sport air-press, those bigger visor. They will confirm force you to take their in-house insurance, china insurance. They will say things like waranty will be void if you take other insurance. Used to be NTUC, but NUTC doesn't count them as authorised workshop, so you know what hidden meaning is there. Anyway, drop by the kelisa club sg. After which the car wouldn't be just a A-B car anymore. And ya, I heard about the throttle getting small thing, and it effects the performance, but not sure about the FC part. I clock an ave of 17km/L using shell.
