Octopus 3rd Gear April 14, 2006 Share April 14, 2006 [reply] hmmmm...gd one bro...now that my shocks are faulty....moving over a slight hump can be very irritating...very bumpy ride now....haiz~ Can try some lubrication on your shock absorber as temporary counter-measure, until you change to a new set. Octopus 3rd Gear April 15, 2006 Share April 15, 2006 [reply] bro hw do i go abt lubricating it huh? i dunoe even knw which part to apply plus use wich lubricating gel....pls enlighten... Just need to jack up the car at all 4 points one-by-one, just like changing tyre. After the tyre had been jacked-up, you should be able to see the shock absorber metal part by shifting the rubber cover slightly to one side. Then just spray the metal sliding part with some lubricant, I used silicon spray, but I think lithium grease spray would do fine as well.
Nissantoot Neutral Newbie April 15, 2006 Share April 15, 2006 hey dudes, going to change my Nissan 1.5, 4 x shocks soon. Any recommendation? Not going for performance shocks...should I go for KYB (about 270 bucks) or original (about 340)? Is this KYB shock durable? I heard there's gas versus liquid one...which one to go for? Any specific model to recommend for KYB?
Elfenstar 3rd Gear April 15, 2006 Share April 15, 2006 kyb is fine. your "original" nissan ones are rebadged kyb's. (just like your over expensive nissan clutches are rebranded exedy ones). If you can get the kyb gas-a-just absorbers go for them. as comfy as the stock ones, but they move less when cornering so theres less body roll. And they cheaper than the AGX's
Nissantoot Neutral Newbie April 15, 2006 Share April 15, 2006 "If you can get the kyb gas-a-just absorbers go for them." bro, what does gas adjust mean? does that mean the mechanic fitting it in must know how to adjust the thing? I just called up this HC auto and they say can help me install for $80. any bro got experience in using this WS? ↡ Advertisement
