Elfenstar 3rd Gear April 15, 2006 Share April 15, 2006 "Gas-a-just" is the model lah Fittiing it shouldn't be too hard regardless of workshop. And theres nothing to adjust. The name means that the absorber auto adjusts its valving rate to suit the conditions as for normal bumps etc its mostly the gas that gets compressed, but on cornering etc after the gas gets compressed, the fluid gets compressed but it gets compressed less than the gas so theres less body roll. ↡ Advertisement

En0203 2nd Gear April 15, 2006 Author Share April 15, 2006 (edited) hi bro, bro elfenstar is more experience in this, u should follow his advise mine was DIY and bought in jb, not going thru any shop so i don't know the exact price also alternatively, u can try to ask bro Octopus. he did it at SGD$330, which is $80 more than me but his includes labour fee too. so i think it's quite worth it and it's in sg somemore save ur trouble of having to go into jb Edited April 15, 2006 by En0203

Pisces69 6th Gear April 16, 2006 Share April 16, 2006 Hi Gary, If u have not changed your shocks yet, I just managed to find the receipt for the shop I got my Japan made Kayaba(KYB) gas shocks. Shop is : Chin Hon Motor & Trdg., 62 Race Course Rd. Tel: 62963915. I paid $45/ea for the front shocks & $65/ea for the rear ones. Labour I got my mech to install for abt $20 each. I also took the opportunity to change the rubber bushings & damper & the front mounting as they were worn out. These r at additional cost but not too ex. Now the car is much more quiet. Your prices might b higher as mine is the corona cd. Call Chin Hon & check if they have stock & the prices. Cheers

Pisces69 6th Gear April 16, 2006 Share April 16, 2006 Bushings abt $5/ea Damper $6/ea Mounting $30/ea. Labour: Abt $50 all in. I'm sorry but my labour prices cud b wrong as it was done more than 1 year back & I don't have receipt for labour & the bushings & such. All together it cost abt $100 plus. U will have to check the prices yourself as your car parts cud b more ex. Certain parts I only get made in thai as they r not so critical.

Nissantoot Neutral Newbie April 16, 2006 Share April 16, 2006 bro, when you say damper, i suppose it's the spring? and the front mounting is the engine mounting?
Pisces69 6th Gear April 16, 2006 Share April 16, 2006 (edited) No. In this case I mean a rubber "stopper". This is used on the front absorber to cushion it from the metal mounting on top. It's abt 2" dia & abt 4 " long like a solid rubber cylinder shape. The front mounting is the part that u wud bolt the 3 nuts to your front strut bar.
