Kyleng Neutral Newbie August 11, 2006 Author Share August 11, 2006 Hi Meadelx200, 2 more pieces of information that helped me decide. you might find it useful. technical specs from nissan: http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/DOCUMENT/P...0cvt,%20lafesta and the test method that was done to arrive at the specs above: http://www.dieselnet.com/standards/cycles/jp_10-15mode.html ↡ Advertisement
Meadelx200 1st Gear August 12, 2006 Share August 12, 2006 Hi KYleng, Thanks for the link. Will check it up. COE just went up by about S$2k and Nissan up the same also. Probably the best chance for good price this year will be after the next COE (is it 16th or the 23rd?)where price is supposed to drop. Anyway it seems I managed to see 1 Lafesta every other days. Twice in Tampines Mall; a green & an orange.
Sunray Neutral Newbie August 12, 2006 Share August 12, 2006 IF a sunny get only 9km/l, so what's surprise if lafesta get 8km/l??? Bro, not all sunny get 9km/l. How come my sunny can get 12km/l??
Dumb 4th Gear August 13, 2006 Share August 13, 2006 Ya not all sunny get 9km/l. My new sunny, between 1st and 2nd top up of petrol, I got 11.523 km/l. Looks like I will get better with 3rd top before I go for my 1st servicing at 1600 km.
Sunray Neutral Newbie August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Heavy foot ones will complain poor FC. If mostly city driving, sunny is not a good choice.
Watwheels Supersonic August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Funny how tis dumba** ppl want to drive as if like F1 driver and want to complain about lousy FC and blame it on the car. Your FC sucks bcos u let your ego take over the wheel lah! It has nothing to do with whether u'r driving in city or highway.
Sunray Neutral Newbie August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Sorry, don't quite agree with you. I think FC definitely has to do with city/HW driving. I guess sunny AT is not for those who want good pickup and power.
Watwheels Supersonic August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Sorry I was replying to the thread starter. Not talking abt sunny.
Dumb 4th Gear August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Juz had my 3rd top up. Between 2nd and 3rd top up I got 13.636 km/l. That really surprised me after hearing so much negative comments. Now I am wondering whether to believe those comments. Not only that, I am also wondering whether to believe that FC will be better after break-in schedule! Lakeside123 Neutral Newbie August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Dumb, your new Nissan Sunny is Auto or Manual? I believe you are on normal 50% city, 50% highway, with air-con ON, normal tyre pressure & all stock parts....
Dumb 4th Gear August 14, 2006 Share August 14, 2006 Stock car, except for fully body kit and door visor from agent. Car is auto and about 60-70% hwy with air-con on.
Sunray Neutral Newbie August 15, 2006 Share August 15, 2006 Wow, that's a very impressive FC for an auto sunny! My best FC so far only 13.3km/l. Happen only twice in my 8+ mths ownership. So sunny AT a "drinker" is a myth to you?
7seater Clutched August 15, 2006 Share August 15, 2006 RP 5W20 engine oil, iridium spark plugs, k&n air filter, RON92 or 95. Using 20 grade oil, safe against engine wear? Very thin oil.
Zizou 1st Gear August 15, 2006 Share August 15, 2006 tot latio supposed to have very good fc? FC is Nissan's forever pain
Quantum 5th Gear August 15, 2006 Share August 15, 2006 Recently Nissan FC has some improvement e.g Latio, but not so stable, sunny is a example, some guy can claim 15km/l, but another guy only 9km/l
Clement 2nd Gear August 15, 2006 Share August 15, 2006 FC is Nissan's forever pain My former car was a pre-FL Nissan Sunny 1.6 Manual. FC was about 9km/L to 10km/L. Sometimes the FC even dropped to 8 km/L! I am a light footed driver and have only gotten 11km/L on 2 occasions when I had the car. The FC is similar to that of a 2.0L car. And the car feels really underpowered. I heard that the FC for the 1.6 Auto is even worse! I am now driving a Nissan Sylphy 2.0L. This car uses the same MR20DE engine as the Nissan Lafesta MPV, but has been detuned slightly so that the max. BHP output is less. FC so far is about 8km/L to 10km/L. From the Nissan S'pore owners forum, some Sylphy 2.0L owners have reported the FC around 10km/L to 11+ km/L while the Sylphy 1.5L model has better FC of around 11km/L to 14km/L. For the Lafesta, obviously the FC would be slightly higher as the body is heavier than the Sylphy. Nissan has made some improvements to their engines and the latest 1.5L engines used in the Latio Sedan/Latio Sports/Sylphy demonstrate better FC than the older 1.6L Nissan engines used in the Sunny. Quantum 5th Gear August 15, 2006 Share August 15, 2006 If your pre-FL Nissan Sunny 1.6 Manual FC is 9km/L to 10km/L, it is realy extreamly bad FC , surely the engine got some problem, actually you should highlight this point when you was doning servicing, they would do fine tuning your engine, the FC will improve obviously
Sunray Neutral Newbie August 15, 2006 Share August 15, 2006 My friend had tuned his ECU. He's driving an auto FL sunny. But no significant improvement in his FC, same driving habits and routes. ↡ Advertisement
