Kyleng Neutral Newbie March 3, 2006 Share March 3, 2006 Does anyone here owns a Lafesta to confirm the fuel consumption? I've searched high and low and could not find a figure to support what the saleperson said at the nissan showroom. 8km/l on a 2 litre MPV is very low, in my opinion. ↡ Advertisement
Champ Neutral Newbie March 3, 2006 Share March 3, 2006 Hello, Could be 8km/l for Lafesta. Toyota Pinic 9km/l for 2l MPV. Most MPV are aound 8km/l to 10km/l, expect Wish which can do 12-13km/l (that is what I heard). Anyway, why Lafesta? The exterior is ok but the interior really looks "ah pek". But I guess to each his own.
Kyleng Neutral Newbie March 3, 2006 Author Share March 3, 2006 at this price range (70+-2k), i think there are only 3 to consider i guess, Lafesta - large interior, very comfortable ride. Wish - i guess better FC, looks small, but will check it out. Stream - will check it out. but still, 8km/l is very low.
Champ Neutral Newbie March 3, 2006 Share March 3, 2006 Forgot to add that Hyndai Trajet 2l i also about 8-9km/l. Wish is 1.8l. I did test drive the Lafesta - ride is smooth. Also, Nissan's gadgets are very attractive compared to other makes. But the interior really puts me off. I think Wish is slightly smaller than Lafesta, but not by much. Also, cheaper as can get at less than 70k and much better FC. But have to buy from PI. I think Stream comes in 1.7l too - might have better FC. Sat in my friend Stream, quite comfortable. But I think is the most expensive of the 3 makes you listed. Good luck searching for your ride!
Wankie Clutched March 3, 2006 Share March 3, 2006 low as in bad? dude what were you expecting? MPV's are not known to be frugal on petrol. Your average 2L sedan does about 10km/l, so 8km/l for a similar capacity MPV shld be about par
Nav14 6th Gear March 3, 2006 Share March 3, 2006 Lafesta cannot be 8km/l. The Cefiro 230 is already 9km/l, so Lafesta should be around 10km/l. It is not a very big MPV for it to have 8km/l consumption.
Champ Neutral Newbie March 3, 2006 Share March 3, 2006 (edited) Curb weight of Lafesta is 1445kg. For Cefiro 230 it is 1,495. So, based on weight, you might get better FC for the Lafesta since 50kg difference. But the Lafesta is CVT (230 is not CVT, the 350 is, I think), which is rumoured to result in higher FC. So, if 230 is 9km/l, maybe Lafesta is also about 9km/l. Anyway, I think for 2l MPV, FC of around 8-9 km/l is common.
