After the elections, confirm transportation prices will go up. Oil prices have been steadily increase and this will affect transportation companies bottom lines, so in the end they have to pass the buck to the consumers.

COE prices should remain around 15K until Aug 2007. Do not forget many new models coming soon (i.e new lancer, cerato, neos, etc, etc), people hand itchy sure change ride. Wrong idea that coming 2% GST increase going to increase car prices by a lot might send COE north.

based on what i see so far, when COE goes up by 1K, car prices go up by 2-3K, or even more. i think we shd not be asking will COE go up, rather, how much is the increase of car price compared to before CNY?

First suprised to hear the news "the coe quota will reduce this year", but after read newspaper carfully today, the reason is that LTA gave addtional COE last year because of unregistered vehicle. Will LTA give additional COE this year?

 

When COE goes up ... people complain ... so they give out more COEs.

 

Then when COE comes down ... people complain again .... say road congested etc .... then COE goes back up again.

 

Anyway for this bidding and the next ... COE should go down ... after that ... alot of buyers will think "wah! COE low ... I can go buy car liao ...." then COE will shoot back up.
