If u are upgrading from a 1.6L sedan (like mine, 02 corolla)

Ask yourself:

1. Am I getting just another sedan to ferry my wife and kids?

If yes--> civic

2. Do I want to drive a car with AWD and go into corners and leaves every car behind

and still...can ferry my wife and kids around?

If yes--> legacy

Happy thinking...... [;)]

Power to weight ratio is more important.

Civic:

2.0 M/T : 0.1209 ps/kg

2.0 A/T : 0.1181 ps/kg

Subaru:

2.0R A/T : 0.1162 ps/kg

2.0GT A/T : 0.1678 ps/kg

And, we haven't talk about M/T and A/T tranmission loss comparison (The GT will definitely be better without the need to compare transmission).

Leonknapp :

02. performance - Legacy 170bhp vs Civic 2l 155bhp - Legacy wins

Legacy 2.0R 165bhp, Civic VTi-S 140bhp, Civic Si 155bhp

My personal choice:

01. handling

1st) Legacy 2.0R

2nd) Same for both Civic

02. performance

1st) Civic 2.0SI

2nd) Legancy 2.0R

3rd) Civic 1,8 VTI-S

03. FC

1st) Civic 1,8 VTI-S

2nd) Civic 2.0SI

3rd) Legancy 2.0R

04. look

Same for all 3 cars

05. reliability.

1st) Legacy 2.0R

2nd) Same for both Civic (Since it is new)

06. others ( all commend all welcome )

1st) Civic 1,8 VTI-S (Ecnomical, New fresh look, etc)

2nd) Civic 2.0SI (Powerful, New fresh look, etc)

3rd) Legancy 2.0R (Well built, well proven in market for sometime but no fresh model feeling)

1st = 10pts

2nd = 8 pts

3rd = 6 pts

Overall

1st) Civic 1,8 VTI-S, Civic 2.0SI = 52pts

2nd) Legancy 2.0R = 50pts

Guys, it's bhp/weight, and also the transmission and suspension setup that determines if the car wins in the "power" arena.

With the penalty of AWD and heavier body, I'll say it'll be close.

Looks like everyone is only looking at straight line accelerations. Even for that, you will need to look at torque instead of just bhp and weight.

If u are getting a car, look at safety features, and how the cars handle during other situations like cornering etc.

For Subaru cars, AWD is really a very nice features and normally equivalent systems is only availiable on higher end cars.

Best is get behind the wheels on the same day, one after the other and let your heart decide. No point having good numbers but you don't like the feel of the car.

For out and out straight line acceleration, it's bhp, assuming the driver is able to rev to the limit to extract the max power, and sustain it throughout.

But for general city acceleration, low rev torque is king. That's why the E200 Kompressor engine is great for cruising, reaching it's max 240Nm torque at only 2500 rpm.

I chose urban grey. My SE roped in for me solar film, alarm and reverse sensors. But the solar film is co-funded because I chose the highest graded type but I forgot the name already. So total, the SE is giving about $600 of freebies.

If you are buying, or want good service, you can try Keith from Leng Kee. His service is very good. He had been serving me for last six months when I started looking for my replacement car. Very nice chap.
