$1100 for brand new shafts..!? phew, that's ex! just got a quote for brand new ones at $165 per piece. Still shopping..

Recons at $95 per piece. and i still feel am being over-charged...

Well... just change your cv joint will do... not so expensive.

when at full-lock, you hear funny sounds.

 

i get that problem too. driving a 7 or 8 yr old kangoo. when full lock will have loud screeching noises. any issues if i DON'T fix it? my dad says all kangoos make tt kinda noise but i dunno if that's for drive shaft or fan belt (got fan belt sound as well )

well. i've been trying to trouble shoot and isolate the root of the problem. Have also checked with a few people in the forum. This is my conclusion so far;

 

1. Funny sounds? Check drive shaft

2. Still funny sound? Check cv joint

3. Still funny sounds? Check offset of tyres

 

Golden Rule according to me: 15yr old car will hint if it's not doung well, better heed the warnings and rectify the possible problems.

never wait till it's beyond repair or damaged.

Inner drive shalf won't spoil only the outer cv joints. Unless u kena bad bad accident.

May I know what car are you driving? perhaps I can help you source for cheaper drive shalf or CV joints.

like me...then the CV joint will get loose again, not only that your wishbone will dip...

CV joint won't get loose unless:

1) change wrong cv joint

2) cv joint ball bearing flew out

3) cv joint wear out

4) no more grease and ball bearing grinding onto each other making it shaky.
