Satinepink Neutral Newbie February 26, 2006 Share February 26, 2006 I'm in a bit of a dilema. I need to change my drive shaft. So far have changed to re-con drive shafts twice over the last 1.5 years. My mech mentioned that because sometimes i corner at fast speed, this damages the drive shaft. I'm considering getting brand new ones as i'm planning to keep my ride for the next 3 years. Any advise? ↡ Advertisement

Any advise? cornering fast destroys drive shafts? is this true? Omg, then my drive shaft is going to be doomed soon. Do you go gudang often to race? what exactly do u mean by sometimes? how often is sometimes and how fast is your fast? concerned with my shaft
Eugene1 Neutral Newbie February 27, 2006 Share February 27, 2006 It was 7 years back, price increased by now.
Satinepink Neutral Newbie February 28, 2006 Author Share February 28, 2006 Well , my mech apparently belives so. I do not go gudang. Just the occasional random bursts and cornering on my way home on late nights. The concept of speed is relative but a good test to see if your shafts need some work would be if there are funny sounds when you turn at full-lock. Yeobh 4th Gear February 28, 2006 Share February 28, 2006 I believe the re-con work is nothing more than cleaning out all the old grease , replaced with new ball bearings, put in new grease, new rubber boot and metal strapped the boot in place. No machining or polishing is done on the ball joint contact surcface assemble ( such concave and convex grinding machine cost a bomb to invest ) and no over size ballbearings are being used as replacement. So the co call re-con is no where near the original drive shaft specifications in the finish assemble.
