It'll happen sooner or later if you use liquid shampoo/cleaner to clean it over a period of time nod.gif.

They will need to glue it back in place, don't think it'll be an hour's job tongue.gif & you'll also have to bear with the smell for a few days, if not a week or twotongue.gif

The most common problem encountered by continental cars. The cheapest and good place that repairs this is Premiere Auto Sound Trading located at Shun Li industrial estate. Price is the veli cheapest as I had recommended many cars there including my last car (Look for pamela). However, sad to say, it involves changing the entire roof lining and gluing back again. Time needed : 1/2 day.

Good Luck

Yap, quite true for conti cars. Happened to my previous opel last time. Was quoted abt $180 - $220 at a few recommended places to replace the entire roof lining. [knife]

Eventually did some DIY by securing the drooping roof using thumbtacks as car was due for scrapping in abt 6 mths time. The downside was that I had to count and double-confirm the correct number of thumbtacks everytime I got into the car. [sweatdrop]

I did for my Lancia Thema in 1996 at the auto shop at

Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre specializing in auto up-holstery.

You can choose the fabric to use and prices varies.

Need 3-4 hours to do.

Cheers!

My 2 ex-Alfas top linning is not made of fabric but instead some kind of wall paper type that you'll find in homes tongue.giftongue.giftongue.gif

Not the turbo but the 2.0 ie.

Very problematic, leh! Every week in workshop and

nobody know how to solve the problem. Use for 1 year

but burn a bigh hole in the pocket:

$20K depreciation

$4K workshop bill (incl burst timing belt)

$900 for insurance access as involve with accident with

a motcyclist who beat a red light and he does not have

driving licence!

Cheers!

Yup, its true that contis face this problem more than Japs... maybe its the glue these people use in the West?

Many of those upholstery shops will do the patch up.

My car also dropping off... Sigh... Continential cars... No $$$ to fix it yet, so bearing with it. I think it's partly due to driving with the windows down in my case. Do you guys drive with your windows down? Maybe it's bad...?

Hi, actually driving with windows down is not really the main cause but it does worsen the sagging condition of the roof interior lining. The sagging is more to do with the deteriorating of the glue used.

How many more years to go for your car? if less than 2 yrs to go before u are going to sell or scrap then try to live with it lor... if more than 2 yrs to go then get it replaced. [nod]

Just my 2 cents worth.
