Due to the comments from the technicians from my orginal brand dealer that my compressor belt and alternator belt is hardened, I got it change but at outside shop as the dealer usually change much more expensive. My milelage had hit 70,000KM. Cost $65 for the job done at a shop at Tuan Guan area. By the way, can I drive till 100,000 than change my timing belt? Normally what is the advise distance cover before due for change?

Bro, from my experience normally people change their timing belt, fan belt, power steering belt, water pump, water pump bearings all in 1 shot as to cut down the labour cost [:)] Normally, all these belts are changed at a interval of 80,000km for most japanese makes. [;)]

Timing belts r sold in most auto spare parts shops. Gat a jap made belt & parts & u sud b safe.

For normal jap cars is about $300 incl tensioner, bearing, water pump & all other belts. For your flat four, i'm not too sure but if got 2 belts, then might b almost double the price.

If u have a reliable ws, he sud b able to do a decent job for you. Afterall it's a very common repair.

I wud also stick with SG ws as those in JB might just give u more headaches for a few $$$ savings.

U mean just alternator & AC compressor belts cost u $65? Normally abt $300 to change ALL belts, water pump, tensioner & bearing is fair for jap car.

For the timing belt, check your manual for the change interval, and stick to it.

I normally change all the belts together at 90K km.
