A digital amp in many instances refer to a class D amp, but in alpine's case, it refers to the DSP (digital sound processor) built-into the amp.

If I remember correctly, alpine amplifiers are one of the rare ones that actually has time-delay or time-correction function built in. I guess that's why alpine call these amps "digital".

Whatever amps you get, make sure that a class AB amp is driving the front components. For the sub, a class D monoblock (like the MRD605) would be good enough. The class denotes the design of the amplifier circuitry. A class AB amp has generally lower distortion than a class D amp.

Since you already have the amp, might as well try hooking it up to listen if any improvement to your sound [;)]

Sorry too busy doing a lot of upgrade not having time in here, will try out the amp when have more time as found though sound solid sound started to distort at higher vol since the HU amp is not that powerful.

hmmh.. thanks bro!

how do you find the HU then? would you consider changing it?

im getting mine today..

Not likely to change since happy with the sound. Probably will use the present power Sony amp to boost more output (100w). As found the sound solid but distort begin at higher vol.
