I doubt so.

What's the rd tax gonna be like? And its sure gonna be inconvenient to havr to go to Jurong island for NGT top up.

In Mumbai India, they have NGT conversion for all cars. Costs just S$1000 and they instal the NGT tank in your boot.

The car is already advertised by C&C in the ST! Rd tax will probably be as low as current E200K for 1.8L, or maybe lower due to rebates for energy conservation cars.

"Be the first to own the new E200K NGT..." so stated the advert

True. But NGT is pretty cheap at half price to gas, and it allows the same engine to be used. So those preferring gas over diesel engines have a choice, which can be switched by a button on the dash - pretty nifty!

In Australia, u can get gas in most petrol station in the city. All taxis in Perth runs on that. I'm ashamed that Singapore is so so slow and backward in this aspect of harnessing future energy. Being a small country, we should have been easy for us to make it widely available in the whole country. But we seems to be too pre-occupied with political correctness and government revenues.

India has no tight regulation at all, they can do anything to a car...

You trust this kind of conversion...?? I think it is not safe at all [sweatdrop] , just my feeling...

I took a NGT taxi the other day, it feels exactly like the petrol W211 E200 Kompressor. I know cos my family has a E200 Kompressor.

The NGT taxi is so much quieter than the E220 CDI taxi, which has a diesel sound and vibrates more. But the E220 CDI has more horsepower.

At the moment, only very few NGT refilling, and I think the taxi driver said the NGT can only runs about 180km, if you don't refill, you would have to run petrol after NGT has finished.

The E220 CDI has better torque, which is characteristic of diesel, must lower bhp (power) than the E200K.

The E200K NGT is designed to run concurrently with normal petrol, hence the hybrid design which cold be very suitable until S'pore is more wired up with NGT stations.

Hmm, good news, the E200K NGT has tax relief, so it's $8K cheaper than E200K. Also up to 6 more NGT stations to be setup in S'pore, so it looks like a viable option now.

Imagine, 65 cents/L for NGT vs $1.54 for 95 Octane (and we usually pump 98 Octane for Kompressors...)

Add to that the better mileage for NGT per L vs petrol...
