I'm a newbie in ICE. Play heavy bass music. Current setup is:

2 Canton component speakers (front doors)

2 tweeters

1 active Steelmate subwoofer (underneath seat)

My woofer cannot support the heavy bass and breaks when the vol is turned up. Hence went to autobacs for some advise and was quoted for the following setup:

Pioneer DEH-P6850MP HU - $520

6" Pioneer component speakers PNR-TS C160R (front doors) - $460

Alphine Type R 12" subwoofer SWR-1221D $430

Autotek monoblock - $830

Soundproofing front doors - $300

Is this a fair quote or I can get a better setup with similar pricing ($2.5K)...pls advise...thks!

Pioneer 6850 or 8650?

Pioneer component? I think u might as well buy CDT components. Even better bass.

Autotek monoblock is how many watt one? Mine ICE installer also carry this brand. Maybe u would like to check with him.

Ur Canton speaker is confirm for not bassy music. Its a SQ speaker or vocal type. Maybe u can try adjusting the crossover setting correctly first. Some time is the frequency fed too low for the subwoofer if your subwoofer is not those very good type. Especially for the front component woofer which happens for those middle range price speakers which can only handle 40-60Hz lowest. If u feed it down to 20Hz, sure cracking sound. Go for meetup, see how the tuning can help first, if cannot settle then spend $ upgrade.

If u need contact for my ICE installer, I can reccomend u. He carry Canton, Autotek, AudioBank, Cadence, ...etc. I find his price quite competitive, so maybe u can try to ask for a quote. I mean ask ask no harm. If u want, pm me.
