Kespher Neutral Newbie January 24, 2006 Share January 24, 2006 I'm a newbie in ICE. Play heavy bass music. Current setup is: 2 Canton component speakers (front doors) 2 tweeters 1 active Steelmate subwoofer (underneath seat) My woofer cannot support the heavy bass and breaks when the vol is turned up. Hence went to autobacs for some advise and was quoted for the following setup: Pioneer DEH-P6850MP HU - $520 6" Pioneer component speakers PNR-TS C160R (front doors) - $460 Alphine Type R 12" subwoofer SWR-1221D $430 Autotek monoblock - $830 Soundproofing front doors - $300 Is this a fair quote or I can get a better setup with similar pricing ($2.5K)...pls advise...thks! ↡ Advertisement

Kwongwing Neutral Newbie January 24, 2006 Share January 24, 2006 Uh-oh! You jialat already! But seriously the prices you were quoted are not cheap for some of the items, especially your woofer. If you were just concerned with your bass breaking up why kenna quote for whole set - sounds to me your current front components are OK. Come by our meetup tomorrow night for free listening session (and maybe some bak kwa) to consider other options I believe you have quite a lot of options with that type of budget
