Does the check light comes up when u put extractor and cat? Understand some cars will some cars won't depending on ECU also. Also there are devices to control the voltage signal sort of like to cheat the ECU. Under what kind of conditions or cars will installing such exhuast mod cause the check light to appear?

ODB II ECU's will throw a CEL it you temper with your secondary O2 sensor (the one on your CAT)

OBD I ECU's wont coz back then cars dont have a secondary O2 sensor anyways.

The inhabitor device dont always work.

On some cars, ECU's can be swaped to prevent the CEL. I swaped my OBD II to a reflashed OBD I on my EK Civic, havent got any problems so far.

I drive a KIA car. Have 2 O2 sensors. If the cat is placed in between the 2 sensor, i presume it will be after the primry before the secondary. Wouldn't the primary detect something is wrong?

The primary O2 sensor is in a feedback loop with your ECU. It checkas the quality of air exiting your engine and make small changes in fuel injection or spark timing to give you the most efficient burn.

The secondary O2 sensor on OBD II equipt cars does not feedback. They are there to tell you it your CAT is working. That is why it is possible to attach a device to give this sensor a faulse reading and not hurt your car's performance.

Cars after year 2000, ODB I with one O2 sensor is euro3 spec. Most piggybaggies worked becuz the ecu is less smarter (using 16-bit cpu)

Cars after year 2003, ODB II with two O2 sensors is euro4 spec. Many piggybaggies dun worked tat well is becus the ecu r using much faster 32-bit cpu like intel i486.....so is "smarter".

Comes euro5 b4 end of 2006........three O2 sensors and even faster 32bit ecu prob pentium I or II cpu...........modders become "siow" liao..... [dizzy] 3rd party piggybaggy ecu must do catchup to outbeat the system. [dizzy][dizzy][dizzy][dead]

why bother putting a hi-flo cat since its still illegal?

but comparing decat1 and onli hiflo cat.. the hiflo cat will be a better set up..

Onboard Diagnostics Level II (ODB II) engine management controls -- equipped with sophisticated standardized diagnostic capabilities and uploadable flash EEPROM recalibration -- give authorized users powerful self-diagnostics + easy software upgrades, debugs, or the ability to substantially reprogram the behaviour and personality of an engine. OBD II has been required on all new cars sold in the US since 1996. Government mandated antitampering countermeasures provide substantial but not insurmountable barriers to entry for OBD II reprogramming.
