Psfong Clutched January 10, 2006 Share January 10, 2006 I was quoted $280/rim for Magline 16" rim and + $195/tire for Michelin MVX8 by a tyre shop. The trade in value for my 15" is $600. Is this worth it? ↡ Advertisement

Maddriver 4th Gear January 10, 2006 Share January 10, 2006 pay a bit more to get a set of Jap rims instead of paying $280 for taiwan forged rims
Crv2004 Clutched January 10, 2006 Share January 10, 2006 The michelin mxv8 where got so expensive . $280 for 16 inch magline is cheap
Sevenz Neutral Newbie January 10, 2006 Share January 10, 2006 280 is ok. Did you check with pxx xxxg and Eng Wah? Maybe they can undercut the price that you mentioned.

Psfong Clutched January 10, 2006 Author Share January 10, 2006 (edited) Errr, which are the Jap ones? Kyowa Racing? Can recommend me one, which one can tahan the weight of a Trajet (1.8 ton) fully loaded. Edited January 10, 2006 by Psfong
Psfong Clutched January 10, 2006 Author Share January 10, 2006 (edited) What's the market value for the MVX8? Actually, I just want a comfortable and yet above average handling tyre. I have heard bad stories of DB Aspec and C Drive, so not going for either one of them... Edited January 10, 2006 by Psfong

Psfong Clutched January 10, 2006 Author Share January 10, 2006 btw, i got another qn in another thread, this is regarding to my current car which is going to be trade in with a Trajet. (The Magline rim is actually for my Trajet) I will be trading in my car to Komoco Motors at scrap value + 6k. I'm thinking of selling off my Enkei Rims and Michelin Tyres and install stock Toyota Sport Rims. I have checked with the SE, he says I can't do this as the car will be re-exported, moreover, he's giving me a very good car body value and that includes the sport rim as well. Guys, should I listen to this SE or just go ahead and sell it?

Maddriver 4th Gear January 10, 2006 Share January 10, 2006 Kyowa from taiwan..dun qoute me..but i would prefer enkei over magline.. there is no such thing as you can't take out the rims if the car is going to be exported..My SE told me not to remove the rims from my car as well..I bought 4 steel rims with tyres($100),change out my rims and hand over to him on the day i collected my new ride.. He had no choice cos he need to hand the car over..
Dennisk Clutched January 10, 2006 Share January 10, 2006 currently i'm on magline rims, actually can consider a good rim in taiwanese range...is forged and is light..i bought 280/ rims also...i bought from pxx xxxg...
Luweiba Neutral Newbie January 13, 2006 Share January 13, 2006 is it necessary to do wheel alignment after upgrading rims from 15" to 16" ? My Accord spec is 16x6.5 but my new rims is 16x7. Would this be a poblem ? Tyre size is according to spec 205/60 R16. Thanks
Dennisk Clutched January 13, 2006 Share January 13, 2006 you have to go for wheel alignment...better to spend these $$$ to save trouble...don't think is a problem...i upgraded from 14" to 16 " ↡ Advertisement
