Elantrahatch Neutral Newbie January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 hi, i just bought 4 quarts of M1 engine oil from Giant. Realised that the plastic bag is oily when i came back home and when i opened the cap, all 4 bottles of the engine oil are not sealed. Is it normal and can i still use it for my servicing? ↡ Advertisement
Nutty 4th Gear January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 The same thing also happened to me. I think one of my bottles not sealed properly and leaked a bit. Anyway, the 4 quartz are now running in my engine. So far so good.
Fitvip Supersonic January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 Is the offer still on? At what price did you pay? It is quite strange that the bottles are not sealed!
Koren Clutched January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 veri dangerous.. 1) can be fake oil 2) can hav contaminents 3) if there's presence of water.. it will kill your engine why not return to Giant and exchange for a new bottle?
Genie47 1st Gear January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 Some cb bas-tard must have opened it to smell thinking he can smell how fresh it is like perfume. Go back and exchange.

Chevycavy 1st Gear January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 A few months ago I got my M1 engine oil from Giant and when the mech opened them up during servicing he also found that all the bottles do not have those plastic seals when he removed the cap. He said there's a possibility it might be fake M1 oil. Anyone else experience this?
Genie47 1st Gear January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 Plastic wrap or those plastic rings under the caps? US oil do not have plastic shrink wrap seals. They have that plastic ring that cracks when you open the cap.
Genie47 1st Gear January 9, 2006 Share January 9, 2006 Screw it! Just use. Your engine doesn't care. Only cares if there is enough oil to generate oil pressure much like a baby when hungry. Breast milk or formula also don't care and just drink.
