i've read the website and it states that we can use a paint brush to apply it. so, i assume that it is more liquid than gel, though, i believe it should be rather thick.

i'm hoping to get a shop to help me because i dread dismantling the doors and the seats.

Here's what they recommend:

How Much QuietCar Do I Need?

The amount of QuietCar you need depends on two factors.

* Vehicle type

* Amount of noise and vibration reduction you would like

The chart below is a guideline for much you should apply (in gallons) to meet your needs:

Where to apply QuietCar:

Good (~3 to 5dB reduction)

Single coat applied at 40 mils (1mm) thick

All metal body surfaces underneath (undercoat)

All 4 Wheel wells, both top and bottom

Engine compartment firewall and sides

Better (~8 to 12dB reduction)

Double coat all surfaces at .5mm to 1mm thickness per layer

ALL surfaces as in “Good”, plus:

The entire inside of the trunk

Remove the engine hood liner and QuietCar the underside of the hood

Remove the inner door (decorative) panels and apply on all metal surfaces inside each door

Best (~15 to 20dB reduction)

Triple coat all surfaces at .5mm to 1mm thickness per layer

ALL surfaces as in Good and Better

Remove all interior seats, carpets, and interior roof material and apply to all vehicle metal surfaces

Gee thanks for info. Looks more like need to use the sprayer (like the one in the pic) to have beter application. Brush apply will die lor... Probably need to hang up the car for few days.

I ever used the mat material to cover my ex EK model with little effect as found the noise still transmit from gap of door, glass area, windscreen etc as noise supression seems to be some overall design like using thicker glass, double layer bulk head etc. That is why Lexus is so quiet as it have a lot buffer zones in between the passenger section and the engine compartment.

But for budget cars it's useful as it can reduce a lot of vibration zones.

Neutral Newbie

Hi

came across your post. Noticed that its dated in year 2006. Wondering if you had managed to ship the product into Singapore and had it applied?

If yes, can share the results?

Tks!
