Spacio1 Neutral Newbie January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 (edited) Hi, Can someone please enlighten me on the diff between Legacy 2.0(A) Legacy 2.0(A)- MI Legacy 2.0(A) R Price diff is a few thousand and I also notice the R model can do century sprint 1-2 second faster. I know about legacy GT .. too bad its not within my reach Thanks a million Edited January 5, 2006 by Spacio1 ↡ Advertisement
Tanjm348 Neutral Newbie January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 I don't know theres a MI...anyway it should be a variant of the 2.0(A) or 2.0-R This is what I know. I want to look at them in Aug when 2.0R just came. the figures are approx...don't have photographic memory. 2.0(A) - SOHC-$82K - Single exhaust ....170Bhp 2.0(A) - R - $88K - DOHC - Twin exhaust.... 190Bhp new model came in Aug or July '05 2.0 GT - $104K - DOHC turbo charged - 220Bhp. So the R model has a higher 20BHP due to the DOHC variant. Its like the GT without Turbo. Actual my take is that if you going to buy this car, you may be better off with the Toyota Mark X at $95K. I was told by a friend the subaru boxer engine is good in performance by comes to general maintance is a pain. they need to strip down the sides just to do a spark plug change. Ncss Clutched January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 (edited) "Tanjm348"... ur data wrong la... "chilicrab" is correct . you over-power 2.0 & 2.0R AND you under-power GT already!!! 2.0 where got so high 170bhp, it is only 138bhp...... 2.0R where got 190bhp... only 165bhp la! Model , Engine , bhp , 0-100km/h pick-up 2.0(A) , F4/1994 , 138 , 13.0sec 2.0R(A) , F4/1994 , 165 , 11.4sec GT(A) , Turbo F4/1994 , 245 , 6.8sec Edited January 5, 2006 by Ncss
Spacio1 Neutral Newbie January 5, 2006 Author Share January 5, 2006 Thanks guys I did consider Mark X but the shaft running from the front to the back is too huge.. the centre seat at the back is as good as non-existence. Further, its about 10k diff and more road tax.. not sure about fuel consumption though. Looks like 2.0R is more ideal .. GT is beyond my budget. Chilicrab Neutral Newbie January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 The 2.0R(A)pickup at 11.4sec is . Should expect in the range of 10+sec. Btw how realible is boxer engine in terms of performance, fuel economy and etc?
Ncss Clutched January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 (edited) Ok lar... don't just see the pick-up, power not everything la. At least more powerful than Camry. 2L NA autogear at 11sec+ consider normal liao. New Sonata 2.4L powered at 166bhp only manage 11sec. So actually 11.4sec isn't that bad...... Toyota camry 2.0 model only 144bhp & 11.8sec but it is the best budget 2L seller?? Toyota Camry is also same price as Subaru Legacy 2.0R. Go to the showroom & have a test drive. Boxer engine quite good but I feel Toyota VVTi is better overall. Legacy is quite nice also la, got is own character. I think better looking than camry... Zoner Clutched January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 2.0(A)R version -DOHC Dual exhaust(165bhp)... though no GT, but its a good decision....

Chilicrab Neutral Newbie January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 Totally agreed with you . I test drive the 2.0R sometime back in Nov last year. Indeed it is more responsive than my current 2 and 1/2 yr old camry. However in terms of electronics gadgets package with the car, I still prefer camry. Relagsingh 4th Gear January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 Thanks guys I did consider Mark X but the shaft running from the front to the back is too huge.. the centre seat at the back is as good as non-existence. Further, its about 10k diff and more road tax.. not sure about fuel consumption though. Looks like 2.0R is more ideal .. GT is beyond my budget. I will only consider the Mark X as a good alternative away from small conti executive cars, not forgetting the upcoming IS250. They share the same V6 powerplant anyway and the Mark X is way cheaper. The Legacy R will b a good buy. Anyway insurance for TB cars are higher and the power is under utilised if you get the Legacy GT(Auto somemore!! Pah!! what a waste! ) If road tax isn't an issue, I'll recommend the CL9. JDM Honda Accord 2.4 Type S. Or rather, I might even choose the normal 2.0 JDM accord. Though slightly lower on power compared to Legacy R, the price is comparable and the OMV value is much higher.
Solar Turbocharged January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 if u are looking at performance alone, you may be disappointed with the 2.0i and 2.0R if u have been driving manual 1.6liter cars cos the century sprint isnt impressive. let's not talk about high end unless u travel fast all the time like in ns hwy Hi,Can someone please enlighten me on the diff between Legacy 2.0(A) Legacy 2.0(A)- MI Legacy 2.0(A) R Price diff is a few thousand and I also notice the R model can do century sprint 1-2 second faster. I know about legacy GT .. too bad its not within my reach Thanks a million

Subarufan Neutral Newbie January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 Hi,Can someone please enlighten me on the diff between Legacy 2.0(A) Legacy 2.0(A)- MI Legacy 2.0(A) R Price diff is a few thousand and I also notice the R model can do century sprint 1-2 second faster. I know about legacy GT .. too bad its not within my reach Thanks a million Hi bro, Since many had highlighted the differences, I only add here what is MI class. MI stands for Motor Image class. It is nothing but models comes with all kind of grooming kits to make it sporty. I am planning to get a Legacy also. Have tried it and very impress with the quality. You will like it. I find it no difference between the 2.0i and 2.0R. You can wait for a while more. I believe the price can come down some more.
Subarufan Neutral Newbie January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 Hi, It is true that the Legacy is not that powerful for chiongster. It is totally different class altogether. Legacy is impressive with its interior build quality, with superior ICE and impressively quiet cabin. In general, it gives you the luxurious feeling than its Impreza siblings. Ncss Clutched January 5, 2006 Share January 5, 2006 I think Spacio is not looking for cheong or century sprint car. Manual gear is also not preferred beacuse we old man liao... Guess he is buying a comfort, big & solid 2L auto family car with reasonable power under 90k budget. Something like Camry, Lagecy, Accord, Sonata, Cefiro..., not those younster cheong car that consider power only. ↡ Advertisement
