Vit4wd 1st Gear January 15, 2006 Share January 15, 2006 unfortunately, johore royal family nber drive his Hummer into Spore. Both incidents witnessed happened when i was in thailand during the new year long weekend. 2nd incident is real bad, think the vehicle can scrap liao Not true i have seen the Royal's Hummer travelling beside me juz outside Somerset MRT station. It's a Hummer H2. The Hummer rides on the Chevriolet Tahoe platform. The Americans think it is crazy to pay a premium for the Hummer. ↡ Advertisement
Pisces69 6th Gear January 15, 2006 Share January 15, 2006 eh, stolen & brought to Thailand when they hv all the latest honda, isuzu, chevy it was an eye-opening experience to see all kind of cars, pick-up, 4WD.... unfortunately, it is not safe to drive there during at night and early part of the month where they tend to spend their $$$ on booze. quite scary when u see a 4litre pick-up weaving about on a two-lane road ============================== Quite normal for cars stolen in SG & MY to end up in TH where u'll never see it again. Imported cars quite ex there (due to high import luxury tax) & conti cars in demand on the black market. Once in TH the car can even b "legally" registered & used. Much cheaper option than buying 1 from the dealers.
Pisces69 6th Gear January 15, 2006 Share January 15, 2006 The Hummer has a tough guy image as it's famous bcos used by us forces in many war torn areas. Similar to what the Jeep was in the 2nd world war. Popular as an image booster in us & used by famous pple like arnie & a few others i cant remember right now. Some r done up very well with all the creature comforts of a normal suv. The FC will kill u here that's why none around.

Emkay 1st Gear January 17, 2006 Share January 17, 2006 Petrol in Kuwait , no problem. Oil change, just dig a hole & wait for the oil to flow up to u. Not that easy lar .. still need to send to Singapore's refinaries .. somemore the oil wells are mainly in the dessert areas .. where Iraq still have millions of land mines uncleared. Indeed the petrol are cheap. Cheaper then water at least: about S$0.40 / L

Pisces69 6th Gear January 17, 2006 Share January 17, 2006 Those brutes can drive our suv's into the ground anyday. But just not practical in SG.
Ravinged 5th Gear January 17, 2006 Share January 17, 2006 MSCP and normal carparks definitely can't fit in these giants even if LTA allows. Ed
Pisces69 6th Gear January 17, 2006 Share January 17, 2006 They have their own refineries to cater to their low octane big american gas guzzlers there. Clear landmines. No problemo. Just get the egyptians & other cheap labour to join hands & walk across the minefield. Maybe even get old camels to do it. ↡ Advertisement
