Hi Guys..

I'm new to this forums. Also trying to learn much more about cars. Been searching here and there but cant really find my answers..

1) How does lowering your ride help? Better FC? More stable? More powerful?

2) Bigger rims more stable but more FC and suffer from picking up right?

3) Spoilers helps to lower CG of car, means more stable also right?

These I tink are simple questions to your guys, but is something for me to understand more.. =) Will be searching more of them.. Thanks..!

Lowering your ride:

a)Change spring. b) Better change whole set of suspension kit. *Look better but lost comfort. *Not cheap.

Better FC :

Manufactured already do the better is your car. Easy way can help a little is change good spark plug, thinner engine oil, smaller tires, lighten your car 10%. * maybe noisier.

More stable :

Lowering your ride. Put more stability parts. *lost comfort.

More powerful

a) Change higher performance parts. Many way to do it. *sure higher FC.

b) Lighten your car. Very effective if u can ligher up to 20%+. * lost stable

Bigger rims more stable but more FC and suffer from picking up right :

Yes.*widder or tinner tires=more noise

Spoilers helps to lower CG of car, means more stable also right

Yes. More stable only can help in higher speed. Good for those car too powerfull. *higher FC, more wind noise,

1)lower ur car can help for power meh???maybe abit on fc cos less wind force...

but main ly is for stability and better cornering.

2)Bigger rims are more stable, looks nicer.normally will affect pick up...unless u buy those forged rims which is very light...FC will be affected also...

3)spoiler i think is more for show only...not really good for CG and stability...GT wings are better in these aspect...

coilover is a full set of suspension include the absorber and spring which is custom made

to suit each other...will be more safer and also some of them the damping and height can be adjust...popular brands are koni,tein..etc...

better dun reshape coil spring by heat........it changed the properties of the spring and worse it can become brittle and crack, causing accident. [shakehead]

Change a set of new upmarket springs if u insist of lowering. [nod]

Eibach will be my first choice. [thumbsup]

to improve handling these are my recommended 3 steps in sequence.

1. change to better tyres.

2. increase rim size.

3. lower the ride height. (coilovers etc)

Okay. But tyres are the tricky part. Lots of them are rather noisy right? I dun intend to change my 15" rims, so which 15" tyres are ok to play with?

there are basically 2 types of tyres: 1. performance type

2. comfort type

if u are for the performance type, the noise will be louder, lower comfort but better grip during high speed

if u are for the comfort type, u will experience better comfort in terms of noise (its low), overall ride is better...

We dun travel high speeds in singapore. Think its alright? Haha.. Comfort types sounds good.. Can conformt type handle 110km/h well?

true but performance type can handle wet condition better mah... not necessary have to speed mah... its for the grip, more safety mah... [thumbsup]
