Brood 1st Gear January 1, 2006 Share January 1, 2006 Wah, a Sirion owners' thread at last eh? Unfortunately, my backside not yet itchy enough to get one. But maybe see how COE is after CNY? You shd PM Aidan, I think he's one of the first in MCF to get a Sirion, a mint blue one if I'm not wrong.

Brood 1st Gear January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 Wow, Pearl White Passo! How much did you get your ride for?
Mewmew 1st Gear January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 54k then. now cheaper but never regretted. Need to scrap my old Wagon R. 660.l. Still warming up on the FC. 15 - 17 per liter now. But getting a lot of attention on the road. but of course, i brought the car i will say its good, you should go test drive the Sirion/Passo if you have the chance. try it for yourself, dont hear or read too much, buy the car with the heart. not with the brain, too much to consider. Bearyscoby Neutral Newbie January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 hi MewMew Hardly come across Passo on the road, but i guess it does make head turn esp for that pearl white one u hve ther. Can check which PI u got urs from, hows the support, was lookin at Sirion or Vios, but maybe Passo 1 litre may help as a cheaper alternative. Btw what diff between urs n Sirion, or ther is no diff at all? CHeeRs
Brood 1st Gear January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 I've always liked the Passo badge, hehe. Btw, what's the OMV for your 1.0A Passo?
Mewmew 1st Gear January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 (edited) Firstly, its (Passo) won't be cheaper on the selling cost, compare to the two car. here why, Firstly Passo1.L - OMV 18K which = to higher Selling Cost. BUT higher parf value. Higher Resale value (toyota badge) Sirion 1.3 .L - OMV 12++ K (i think) which = to lower selling Cost. But lower parf value. Lower Resale value (Daihatsu badge) (OMV base on 2005's Oct rate and Jap exchange rate) Second, (Base on Long Term Running cost ) Passo 1.L Road tax. $480 / yr + Insurance $777 / yr + lower FC(1.L) = lower running cost Sirion 1.3 .L Road tax. $723 / yr + Insurance $928 / yr + higher FC(1.3L) = higher running cost BUT, Sirion has its Edge too.. 1.3L Sirion has better power, more Omh! than Passo. Has a Technometer. Hand gear and hand break. if you compare apple to apple, that is BOTH 1.3 Sirion and 1.3 Passo. Price - Sirion will be much cheaper. Service - Sirion has their own agent and have part anytime So. Sirion might be a better chioce. ( STS should pay me for saying this ) But because i have met bad service SE at STS(two of them) and also i wanted Peal White and not willing to pay 2.5K extra for that.(only Sport Euro have Peal White) and also higher insurance for Euro Sport. Anyway, as i mention, buy with yr heart Both are 95% same but diff badge. Edited January 4, 2006 by Mewmew
Mewmew 1st Gear January 6, 2006 Share January 6, 2006 can i ask, is the Sirion the cheapest Japan made car in town now?
Brood 1st Gear January 6, 2006 Share January 6, 2006 No. I believe that distinction belongs to the Daihatsu YRV!
Mewmew 1st Gear January 6, 2006 Share January 6, 2006 right! but for some reason, i have a feeling that STS is trying to clear their stock of YRV, i think that they are phasing out.
Ckteddy Neutral Newbie January 6, 2006 Author Share January 6, 2006 That was what the STS SE told me in oct 05... saying they clearing the YRV stock (few left) in their wharehouse.... seems to take a long time... If looking at price alone, YRV would be the cheapest. But if u consider the engine capacity, it would be either Lancer or Sunny.
