Just a quick question here:

I'm currently using 195/50/R15 tyres. How can I know if I can use 205/50/R15? Which measurement of my rims should I look out for to know?

Many thanks!

The rims size 6.5 or 7. But this also depend on tyre model. Some model can for such size can still use 6.5 but some uses 7 min. smile.gif

Btw for this size might need to check if it will brush the wheel well when turning. Tis got to do with rim offset. Tis size also quite rare if not mistaken. wink.gif

The problem with tires is the availability of the series. For example, someone needed 185/55-15 for his Aveo because he valued comfort but liked the idea of bigger rims. Very few tire brands/models have 185/55-15 compared to the abundance of 185/60-14 and 195/50-15.

Then the other thing is that the tires fit onto the rim has to have the same rolling diameter as the stock or previous so as not to screw around with the speedo reading. Might even make the engine work harder just to turn those wheels.

No lah, I happened to be surfing ard wink.gif

Now check the tyre n see if they have info on size of rim it can fit. Normally its stated in their specs, however if dont have u might need to go physically to the shop n try. Most shops can tell if can fit rim and if any problem with tyre hitting the rest ofthe car when turning.

Btw wat model of tyre u'll be getting?

Why you want change 205/50/15 since your rim is same?? [hur]

195/50/15 tire is cheaper mah... also won't reduce your power. why waste the money?

Only small increase 195 to 205 can feel different in grip meh... [hur] .

Must know what car he drives, some car don't suit 205... will increase noise & reduce power.

I am opposite, I spec down my tire, change 235 down to 225 [laugh] , save cost & increase power... [laugh]

yes there is a difference, if you look closely at the 2 tyres...you spec down because 235 is simply too big...too low profile....look very beautiful...but run like kanasia...waste more fuel and more money...wise decision for you to go 225...if can go down to 215 la

Thanks! After hearing some of the other bro's advises, I think will keep to 195 as opposed increasing to 205.

Thinking of getting the Hankook R-S2 for my next set of rubbers. [flowerface]
