Garlic 1st Gear December 26, 2005 Author Share December 26, 2005 (edited) Tks Gen2, looking forward to your pics. Having lots of ice cold water helps to quench the thirst. Will be doing my mum's car next week, will have to use a more aggressive polish/light compound if the cutting pad can't fix it. Last pic of the day. Oh man, I see patches of dark clouds ... Garlic 1st Gear December 26, 2005 Author Share December 26, 2005 where did u buy the pads ar? and how much do they cost? is it really worth it polishing ourselves? The 6.5" Meguiar's foam pad cost about $20 each, I got it from the local distributor Hypercoat. I prefer DIY cos' I can pay more attention to the details and the feeling afterwards is shiok! The initial investment is quite high but the pads and machine can last quite awhile. :) Cutting pad: http://www.meguiars.com/?pro-pad/SOFTBUFF-Cutting-Pad Polishing pad:

Garlic 1st Gear December 27, 2005 Author Share December 27, 2005 (edited) Unlike wool pads, foams pads are pretty safe and won't leave additional swirls onto the finish. The difference between a cutting, polishing and finishing pad is mainly its cell structure and 'stiffness'.
