Mel4fun Neutral Newbie December 28, 2005 Share December 28, 2005 (edited) Well, I would have to agree that the VAG parts cost is one of the cheaper one among the conti brands. Servicing cost is managable too .... not talking about going back to agent. Servicing intervalis like any other make .... 10,000km on syn oil ..... maybe 15,000km if we want to stretch a little. Funny thing is .... since I've been driving a Jap for almost 1 year ... I still miss the Tody so much .... Something of a VAG that always make mine knees weak ...... maybe a 2nd hand MkV GTi in 2-3 years time..... heh heh Edited December 28, 2005 by Mel4fun ↡ Advertisement

Vit4wd 1st Gear January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 The next best alternative to a Superb 1.8T is a Passat 1.8T Same engine and body - only different badge.
Orablue 1st Gear January 3, 2006 Share January 3, 2006 the reliability problem of the original 1.8T engine? Anyway anyone heard horror stories of the VW 1.8T in Singapore?
Conned Clutched January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 Wow... didn't realise the Superb has been around for that long already... Like what Relak mentioned, don't think you can get one for that price as the first batch was sold at $110k, the owners would be losing like crazy
Lightspeed Clutched January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 Hey man... where have you been? Your ride's in hot demand

Lightspeed Clutched January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 Depending on when the owners bought their ride Take heart.... all cars depreciate upon purchase, you're not alone
Joeyip Neutral Newbie January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 70 K is way to high... Just to share I brought a resales Mar 05 Primera in Nov 05.. I only pay 61 K.... Of course this is what the 2nd hand dealer would pay. The 1st owner lost almost 20 K for 8 mths of ownership. For a Conti car like 04 Skoda Superb 1.8K... I think most people would pay not more then 10 K above scrape value.
Slowpoke156 Neutral Newbie January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 (edited) What's the "body" value of the Primera? The current Superb and Passats easily command more than 10k for the body alone. Add that to the paper value of the car, 70k is a good deal. Don't forget that the OMV of many Passats around that age are in the mid 30k regions, with PARF at 65% and not 50%. Joeyip Neutral Newbie January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 Agree with you the person like the car, any price go... But resales price for car that more then 2 yrs is almost like scrap value plus a few more K that all... Especally Conti-car, don't mistaken me I used to drive a Opel Astra, and I love the feel of it and still miss my old Astra very much, but reslaes price of the car now a days is like scrap value loh...So I find that 70K for a Superb is high... Joeyip Neutral Newbie January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 The OMV of the Primera is about 24K...
Skodarr Neutral Newbie January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 70K still too high ... Well, can't compare with Jap Cars with lower paper value but much better selling price than Conti dude ... Anyway, nobody will want to loose this much unless he/she is posting overseas and company bear half the loses which is in case it's my cousin . Fortunately for him ... Slowpoke156 Neutral Newbie January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 I'm not talking about whether if the person likes the car, he is willing to pay any price. I am simply stating market values because I was recently in the market for such a unit and this was what I found out. The Primera has a much lower sale value because firstly, it's not a very popular model and secondly, Nissan cars in general do not hold their prices as well as the more popular makes like Hondas and Toyotas. Not all car values are like scrap, take a harder look around and you'll find that many cars still hold their values well.
Skodarr Neutral Newbie January 4, 2006 Share January 4, 2006 Yes, can't agreed more. As mention Jap cars are much more popular locally ↡ Advertisement
