Tigershark1976 Turbocharged December 21, 2005 Share December 21, 2005 Hi all, I'm currently using a 180W RMS amp.... running on a single 10" sub with box.... 1) thinking to add another sub and change the box to a gigger 1. May I know that kind of expectation can I look at? 2) If I'm using 2 diferrent brand of woofer at the same time in the same box, would my bass sound worst? ↡ Advertisement
Ivan0507 Neutral Newbie December 21, 2005 Share December 21, 2005 (edited) bro,i don't think your amp is enough power to take 2 subs.if you want 2 subs try get a bigger amp .don't used two different sub for the set up,will blown either one of the sub.cos of different spec .try to get a pair (same sub)is better. Nov_revol Neutral Newbie December 21, 2005 Share December 21, 2005 i think yr amp is under power for 2 sub, unless you bridge yr amp and yr sub. Might just be enought. Amps will blow sooner too.

K2000 Neutral Newbie December 26, 2005 Share December 26, 2005 dont expect well improvement by adding a sub, it may just give you 5db+- more
York Clutched December 26, 2005 Share December 26, 2005 2) If I'm using 2 diferrent brand of woofer at the same time in the same box, would my bass sound worst? it's better to hv... similar type of subwoofer....I oso agreed wif the others....180Wrms wun be able to drive twin woofer...for normal 10" I would recommend 200Wrms minimum on each woofer. Darkness Neutral Newbie December 26, 2005 Share December 26, 2005 Hi there I KPO a bit....wat sub u using in the first place? Cause from wat i know if u under power the sub then the single sub itself will not be performing at its optimum. For example if ur sub is rated as 250w rms and u power it with only 180w rms the woffer will not be able to deliver at its max potential. So best u get ur sub rms first. Also in terms of aesthetics atleast subs of same brand model will be better. Much easier for tuning purposes also. Seldom or never seen ICE setups with diff subs. Hope that helps. ↡ Advertisement
