Heynsl Clutched December 16, 2005 Share December 16, 2005 Hi, I am a car novice here... Currently I am driving a imported honda accord (auto) with 200bhp. I would like to know what are the ways to increase my car power gradually (perhaps by a little bit) without any modification or anything that will void the warranty and at the same time can comply to LTA regulations. It would be good if the power improvement will not cause an surge in fuel consumption. Please advise. Thanks. ↡ Advertisement

Apollo 1st Gear December 16, 2005 Share December 16, 2005 right foot.... it's free. most cars need less then 30BHP to get moving in a decent speed. and u hv worries dealing with a 200BHP car?
Ncss Clutched December 16, 2005 Share December 16, 2005 (edited) Actually 200Bhp enough liao... Would like to "jio" you on pick-up some day , curious to see how much length a 200Bhp Honda ahead of me . Edited December 16, 2005 by Ncss
Slayer Clutched December 16, 2005 Share December 16, 2005 Do u mean u want to feel more 'punch' driving this car? One way is to drive the car to the best u can. (that u need to learn from good drivers) (not cheap also, coz that translate into your time spent and extra fuel). If u really die die want to change somethings, yes u can, get the best plug and best flow air filter. (hopefully that helps the engine to perform to its optimum level). Genie47 1st Gear December 16, 2005 Share December 16, 2005 Are you crazy? 200bhp not enough? If you don't like NA, you should have bought a TC car instead. Actually for NA car at 200bhp, more or less can't do much to make it even more powerful. You spend loads of money. Port and polish intakes and exhaust, gear box, piggyback chip and all that all costs and the gains miserable. TC car different. Compare to NA car, you spend lesser for bigger turbo, FMIC, piggyback and gain loads more power increase. Sorry to say this to you, if mod for power is what you want, you should have gotten a TC car. You want to mod a car but your not willing to void warranty + sacrifice FC and wish to comply with LTA regulations. I'll suggest you keep it stock. BMW320i Neutral Newbie December 16, 2005 Share December 16, 2005 I would be happy with a 200bhp car considering the power to weight ratio of his car.

Johnchong Neutral Newbie December 16, 2005 Share December 16, 2005 (edited) I know what you mean... 240bhp was fast initially, now it's not. But I think must increase gradually. ie. Each new car that u buy should have a bit more than the previous. If you suddenly buy a 400+bhp supercar, then it'll be even harder to satisfy your power craving. Astrid 4th Gear December 16, 2005 Share December 16, 2005 (edited) Without ANY modifications whatsoever? And without voiding warranty? Hmm ... tough call - especially the "NO MODs" part. Well, without going over to TC or SC cars, I can suggest you sell the car then and wait for the new IS250. 215 BHP (8% power increment). Kax2 Neutral Newbie December 16, 2005 Share December 16, 2005 Reduce weight of car to improve power/weight ratio..... take out spare tyre/backseat, change carbon fibre bonnet/light weight rims and go on diet so that your car don't have much to carry ↡ Advertisement
