Hi, I notice that when the aveo go down slope it will have a sudden slow down even if I do not press on the brake. Anyone have the same experience? Is this normal?

I also thought is engine brake but then when going down slope the speed is fast. I let the car roll down. My previous lanos does not have this "problem". I think SA will not be able to find anything. Anyway last time I left my car at SA they screw up my steering column and I got it fixed outside at $200.

This is assisted braking. I only experience once when I am turning steering wheel on a downslope bend at a higher than normal speed. Duno why suddenly feel the extra braking (like the brake padel move down a bit by itself (similar to when u step your brake fully, turn off your aircon that feeling). Nissan Sunny (previous version also have) My uncle's SDP plate have this assisted braking thing also. But his is a auto, so normal, my is a manual still have this thing?

Yo Dude, you should be concerned when you are not experiencing this when you go down a slope. The auto transmission have what is commonly known a Fuzzy Logic programme and would change the gear from say 4th to 1st when it senses that you going down hill.... "no pedal acceleration command from driver and vehicle is travelling faster than it should" logic.

You mean this is normal?? I experience this whenever I exit from PIE (towards jurong) to CTE. That is a upslope road follow by down slope. Towards the end of the road, I will feel something like a engine brake although my foot is not on the brake.
