Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 14, 2006 Share May 14, 2006 Hi bro, I am using one of this and I find it is the best DA machine I have used so far but the price is a bit . If you do not have a more serious defect to handle, a Bosch Gex270AE will serve the purpose at a lower cost .
Lukie102 Clutched May 15, 2006 Share May 15, 2006 if free...go check out gen2's machine that he is using. then u decide which 1 you want. believed you have seen the bosch one
Clubace Clutched May 16, 2006 Share May 16, 2006 How much did u buy it for? Kind of hard to decide which one to buy. :p
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 17, 2006 Share May 17, 2006 The Rupes model I believe now is selling around $460 and Bosch around $150. I believe it all boils down to how much you are willing to spend, if you are ready to part with $460 than I would suggest getting the Rupes DA machine. Of course you need to take into consideration of the pads and chemical too .

Itarc Neutral Newbie May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 Can check with you a few queries i have in using a machine to polish/wax my car... 1. Do you use the machine to wax on or wax off or both? 2. If both do we use the same pad for wax on and off? 3. What kind of pad do we use for waxing on and/or wax off? 4. Do we need to use a different speed of waxing on and off? May i know which speed you normally use? (in regards to bosch gex 270ae) Thanks in advance
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 If you are using machine to apply wax, than you will need a finishing pad to do the job and set the speed to 3. To remove the residue with machine, you will need a stiffer pad, like a cutting pad from Meguiar, than cover the pad with a MF bonnet and do the removal at around speed 3 too. Itarc Neutral Newbie May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 Thanks Still got a 2 questions...Do i apply wax on the pad or on the car b4 applying? Or it doesn't matter... And for waxing off, do i need to wet the pad or just use it as it is? Sorry if that seems like a stupid question
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 (edited) Don worry bro, those are definately not stupid questions I use to have the same doubts too . You can apply the wax onto the pad directly and for buffing off you need the MF bonnet not the buffering pad to remove the residue. The bonnet looks something like the picture below and can be obtained at Hypercoat. Edited May 19, 2006 by Gen2
Clubace Clutched May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 Question.... Would Bosch PEX400AE be a better choice than GEX270AE?
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 I think better stick to Gex270AE .
Zeefauna Neutral Newbie May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 Any idea how much Hypercoat is selling? Can't find this at the stores...
Gen2 Neutral Newbie May 19, 2006 Share May 19, 2006 I bought mine quite some time ago cannot really remember how much it cost liao and if I am not wrong it comes in a pair. Have been using MF towels for the product removal, the bonnet sitting in my cupboard for quite sometime already .
