Wonderful, pretty happy with the results. :)

1) Wash with NXT car wash

2) Claybar entire car + wash again

3) Meguiars polishing pad with #80

4) Meguiars finishing pad with #16 (2 coats)

5) #40 for plastic trims and rubber moldings, endurance tyre shine for the tyres.

I'm also using the GEX 270AE :) It's the best for the budget of under $200.

I use sealents only every 2 months. Considering my usage pattern, it does not make sense to spend much more for such a machine. Besides, BOSCH is already a good machine to start off with.

Unless u are a pro detailer running a detailing business or you will be using the machine every week which is abit execessive... The Bosch is fine :)

Cheers

Looking forward to ur review [;)]

Almost forgot to update on my finding, paiseh.

The new DA machine I spotted is Ryobi RSE1250. Looks quite similar as Bosch Gex270AE but slightly taller. I would say the performance is slightly better than the Bosch machine with a stronger power. The damage is around $150/-.

Oh really ... I was trying to look for this information on the machine but cannot find [:p] . That makes it even more worth it to buy liao.

More info on the RSE1250 http://kanamono.sakura.ne.jp/dendou/ryobi/.../p/rse1250.html

English website: http://www.ryobitools.com

According to the specs, the power output of the RSE1250 is 300W as compared to the 270AE's 270W. Those looking for a higher power machine but on a budget might want to try the BOSCH PEX400AE, it outputs 400W and one of the bros here just got it for $180.

The hardware shop @ Loyang also stocks Ryobi but they are rotary polishers.

The Bosch operate like a DA machine but you cannot change the backing plate and you should be fine using 6"-7" pads with it.

Using 6.5" foam pads with it, no probs. :)

According to the manual, the backing plate is a replaceable part but you have to buy it from BOSCH.

I guess bro Steelblue is asking whether the backing plate can be changed to a different size plate, eg 6", 4" or even 2.5". I don think Bocsh or the Ryobi DA can interchange backing plate [shakehead] .

borrow this thread. juz tried the ryobi today. Initial plan was to try out with FPII and AIO but was too lazy tongue.gif. Will try that combi next time. At speed 5 with optimum polish. noticed that after a while, there seems to be some dried up small round grey balls forming. not sure if i have polished too long or the speed was too fast. But found that shaking the bottle each time before applying the OP on polishing pad seems to help (I have shaked the bottle prior to using). topped up with optimum wax. pics were taken with my hdphone camera. Noticed the orange peel effect on the 4th pic?

Hey sista, finally tried out your new toy [sly] . How much OP did you use ? The drying up effect you mentioned sound like you are using too little initially, that's why as you proceed longer, putting more OP on the pad, the drying effect is minimized. So how long it took you to do the whole car ?

Btw nice work there, the last bonnet shot looks pretty wet [nod] .
