More info on the RSE1250 http://kanamono.sakura.ne.jp/dendou/ryobi/.../p/rse1250.html

English website: http://www.ryobitools.com

According to the specs, the power output of the RSE1250 is 300W as compared to the 270AE's 270W. Those looking for a higher power machine but on a budget might want to try the BOSCH PEX400AE, it outputs 400W and one of the bros here just got it for $180.

The hardware shop @ Loyang also stocks Ryobi but they are rotary polishers.

Hmm, looking at the Ryobi's and Bosch's specs, they have variable speed of 6k-12k rpm (ryobi) and 3k-6k rpm (bosch). correct me if i'm wrong but shouldn't a DA be operating at 1.5k to 3k rpm max?

looking at Lukie's pic, could the orange peel effect be the result of using too high rpm, at 10k rpm (5.5 setting)?

sorry made a mistake on the bosch's spec. its 7k to 12k rpm too.

thanks for the info on the opm (operations per minute?), but the DA still 'rpm' in a random fashion right? i'm concern because if u look at PC or Rupes, they operate at quite a low opm. even if the bosch or ryobi's rpm is converted to opm, i'm willing to bet its still way too high for a safe polish/buff by a novice like me!
