Genie47 1st Gear January 12, 2006 Share January 12, 2006 That is the reason why I advocate the thin oils. No freaking difference! Might as well enjoy the V-Power w/o pumping V-Power performance. ↡ Advertisement
Cyberet Neutral Newbie January 12, 2006 Share January 12, 2006 yeah, and i didn't drive like a tortise.. rev to redline all the way up till i reach expressway speeds west to east, and then to north every morning & night. with lots of short trips in between who says thin oil will wear more? haven't tried non-stop to malacca though FC improved to 11.5 - 11.8km/l from the previous 10+ 15w40 delvac mx is making my car so sluggish now
Carre4engineoil Neutral Newbie January 29, 2006 Share January 29, 2006 That I dunno. All our Si are double digit. BTW, go to UOA forum. cxxxxxe TR 5W40 SL UOA is out! Same guy that did for the Corolla when the first SJ report before mine came out (on BITOG as dm). This time on a 03 Sunny. Results are but even the oxidation and nitration are . Not bad for a cheap oil eh? I think next time for more people go sapu all when sales come. Shows that cheap oil can be good too. Well done bro Btw cxxxxxe is not CHEAP oil, Carrefour is selling it CHEAP and margin is almost ZERO and coz of the overwhelming response we've to SELL @ below $30 i dont think you guys can find any 5W-40 fully synthetics engine oil selling @ this prices . Anyway the price is GOING UP SOON

Genie47 1st Gear October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 Wear metals look good even though it seems like the oil took some beating. Oxidation is down but nitration is a problem here. Water? Where the hell did that come from? There is no antifreeze so I think it might have gotten in there when you drained the oil cold?
Cyberet Neutral Newbie October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 (edited) oil was drained after 2hrs of driving, so its hot could it be due to a different lab testing this time round? seems like my engine is pretty hard on oils lead drop alot silicon no change despite changing to k&n Edited October 2, 2006 by Cyberet
Trex101 3rd Gear October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 From this result, Mobil 1 does perform better then RP & Esso in terms of oxidation, nitration & sulfation stability. Your increase in SI doesn't seem to increase any wear metal , in fact it's lower then your last 2 UOA. TAN at 3.7 is shot though, 10k is the max you can go for this oil. Nine_eleven 2nd Gear October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 probably the LC helped?
Genie47 1st Gear October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 Most likely helped but it would be good to compare it to a baseline M1 10W30 run w/o LC.
Trex101 3rd Gear October 2, 2006 Share October 2, 2006 Doesn't seem to help RP though.

Nine_eleven 2nd Gear October 5, 2006 Share October 5, 2006 (edited) but this TSB says nothing of the 3ZZ-FE 1.6 altis/G9 engine and 2AZ-FE camry engines BEFORE 2006 MY... granted US doesn't have the 3ZZ-FE in their markets... could toyota have made internal modifications to newer engine variants of existing engine models that can accept 0W20 oils? ie: MY2006 2AZ-FE vs 2004MY 2AZ-FE hmm.... in any case, once i'm done with my existing oil stash, i'm going for the W20 for a try.... our cars last ten years only anyway! hahaha Edited October 5, 2006 by Nine_eleven
Upguy1 Clutched October 7, 2006 Share October 7, 2006 looking at the charts, its about time now for me to use 5-20wt oil for my next servicing.... so far been using 30wt oil according to my manual.....
Nephilim 1st Gear October 7, 2006 Share October 7, 2006 While we are now on the topic of 20wt oil for Toyota engines, I've attached the relevant pages of my manual (they are in Jap). It appears to suggest that my 1NZ-FE engine is specified to use 0w20 oil. Any kind soul here can help me translate the Jap text - esp the part on ambient temperature (I'm quite confused with the diagram)? P.S. This is from a password-protected pdf file so I couldn't copy n paste the text to use an online translator
Genie47 1st Gear October 8, 2006 Share October 8, 2006 I think I would actually like to think that ILSAC GF4 oils is recommended. Only 10W30 and below can qualify for GF4.
