I know of a disgusted Octy owner who had this problem long time back when JTA was still alive and kicking and he has sent the car in for countless days for JTA to fault find and yet, the last I heard, he still suffer from the problem.

What happened was that he brought the car in the workshop and when JTA did a spray on the car using the hose and watered the car for a while, the car didnt show any sign of seepages anywhere... but when the poor chap drives in the rain and somehow, over a few hours later, his floor bed in the car would be moist!

I met this guy at JTA workshop and he was very angry. He told me his sad story and even asked me to feel his carpet. When I pressed my palm on the floor bed, it was all wet!

Not sure how many Octys have this problem. Tacon, you are the 2nd owner I know who has it.

actually come to think of it, there was a bora lady owner who had this similiar problem as well. And like what fabiaman has said, C&C did the same stunt in terms of test with water spray, etc and conclude nothing is wrong. My take is that you have to be firm with the dealer, on the otherhand, be alittle smart. Insist that they take your case as top priority (and they handle your case the moment the rain seeps into your car to prove there's a problem) and demand what you think it's within yoru right.

maybe even suggest to them to loan you a courtesy car, and in the meantime, submerge ur car in a water tank [laugh][sweatdrop]

Water has many routes to find its way into the interior. I had bad experience with my previous 4 years old car.

One day, i just found the floor carpet at the right side (both front and rear) soaking wet. I sprayed water around all windows, doors, and windscreen, but couldn't find water getting thru these places.

What i eventually found was that water got into the car thru this:

In order to discharge rain water which got into the gap between the boot lid and the bodywork, the car was designed with a drain hole located in this gap, and there was a rubber tube (about 4mm diameter) connecting this drain hole, thru the boot space, into another concealed drainpipe somewhere above the rear wheel arch and then out of the car.

What happened was that this rubber tube had been dislodged from the drain hole (perhaps while i shifted goods in the boot). So instead of getting out, rain water which ran into the gap went straight into the boot, and found its way thru the boot floor, thru the underside of the rear seat cushion, onto the floor carpet. Once i plugged back the rubber tube, problem solved. It did take a few days to dry up the wet carpet though.

tks for the concerns!!

juz got back my car from CA, they took 2 day to fix it.

Cause - they said is because was the aircon water outlet... the outlet is too short

hence the water managed to leak into the carpet. So they fix a extension to the outlet.

btw, the outlet is found within the bonnet.

personally, I found this reason not logical.tried to ask more but the service engr seem to be rushing to go hm. :(
