Contax 1st Gear November 30, 2005 Share November 30, 2005 (edited) For me , it's definitely cost cutting measure....but how much can they save ....i really dunno.Anyway , is it really necessary to have the passenger's power window ?.....in case someone farted heavily in the cabin with onion flavour ?? Jts156 Neutral Newbie December 4, 2005 Share December 4, 2005 hehe i really like the SE's creative reply about why there's no power windows at the rear so you can manually wind them down in the event of river incidents! well it's definitely a cost cutting measure and since the rear windows are seldom wound down, it's ok to live without the rear power windows. many conti cars are like that without rear power windows. we in singapore are so used to having all the features thrown in given the price we pay for our precious rides whereas in europe people are willing to pay less to save on the car and get less features. Felipe 3rd Gear December 5, 2005 Share December 5, 2005 agree, ppl in sg believe it or not sometimes think the car is better just because they have more features. they should try sitting in a lotus elise, tats one spartan car! for me, i give more priority to the handling and horsepower, maintenance, fuel economy. in fact, i prefer less 'features' so got less problems to deal with. so maybe abit of perspective shift is needed. Perrier 1st Gear December 5, 2005 Author Share December 5, 2005 Actually the Punto wins me over in terms of its features. The SE told me where to get a car that has all those features, dualogic gearbox, full fledge trip meter, good interior space, quite good head room, reasonable good boot space for its class, seperate headlight and high beam lights, passenger disable ability, good FC, tinted window, 40-60 foldable seats, NCAP 4 engine. did I miss anything. I just test drive the car, fun car to drive. really different from the cheaper jap car I tried. but the price quoted to me is the only consideration I had now. got to set aside $$ to buy milk powder now... Felipe 3rd Gear December 5, 2005 Share December 5, 2005 yes, the punto does have alota features, but more imptly, the fundamentals are still there. so not buying just bcos of the absence of a nonessential feature like rear power windows is perhaps not the best way of thinking. btw,its not a dualogic gearbox, but a 6 speed cvt.
