Help! Oil stump did a Titanic!

Hi! My dad's car, 89' merz 300SEL, has a bad gap in his oil stump. He basically went over something on the floor thinking it was a plastic bag. Turned out to be a big rock! Anyways, anyone out there knows of a good place to repair it? Gap needs to be welded back and engine re-aligned I think. Also, I hope the pistons are not locked! There's no more engine oil left in it, and I didn't know and tried to start it a few times but couldn't... So sad... [bigcry]

Right... Thanks! Know of anywhere that can do it? I'm thinking of bringing it to my workshop, but they do VAG cars, dun think they do merz. It should be abt the same, but I was wondering whether anyone in here knows of a good place that does merz... Of course, reasonably priced too... [:p]

Oh, and I think more needs to be done than just the oil sump. Appreantly my dad says his car now has a funny whirling sound after the hit. Seems like the engine got twisted or something. I dun really know, so just guessing...

Hehheh... Long story... [:p]

Actually my dad hit the rock, but managed to drive home. Then, later, abt 1.30am, my mum called me to pick her up from her midnite shopping, and I took my dad's car since it was in front of mine. Anyways, I did notice it was acting very weird, and the oil light was on, but I thought it was ok and that it was just the oil level a bit low. I drove it a bit, and it suddenly stalled. I tried to start it a couple of times but it couldn't, then I gave up. Called the ever friendly AAS to tow it back home where it is still sitting now. I then realised the engine oil no more and all leaked out! [shakehead]

I only hope now that my driving that night, and the trying to start the car many times after it stalled didn't seize the pistons or something. Changing the oil sump is one thing... Seized pistons is another... $$$$$$$$$$! [:/]

IN that case, change the oil sump and fill up with oil first....then, start the car....usually it should be OK....because there is safety feature built in to stall the car when oil pressure is too low....thumbsup.gif
