Anybody remember Richard Burns?

Subaru fans should have remembered him fondly. He had won the 2001 WRC drivers championship in a Subaru. He drives Subaru for most of his rallying career but joins Mitsubishi and Peugeot at some point during his career. He had passed away on Friday 25th November after diagnosed in November 2003 from astrocytoma, a form of brain tumour.

 

May his soul rest in peace and as a rally fan, I'll miss him.

The guy's young, I believe only early 30s or mid 30s at most......

 

That's sad news...no wonder there wasn't news on his race performance on AXN WRC coverage...

Burns was a nice balance to the more vocal McRae in the WRC scene. His presence has been missed and will now be even more. May he rest in peace.

Wow, I am also not aware of his death, got overshadowed by George Best I suppose. Anyway, RIP Burns and Best, thanks for the memories.

I knew he was fighting cancer and I thought they would normally succeed in eliminating the cancer especially with the amount of specialist doctors around such a prominent figure.

 

Unfortunately .... dcotors can only do so much and he was taken away at such a young age.

 

Well in consolation, it may be true that ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG

i remembered he performed at Marina South carpark Many years ago with his Wrx. passed away at such a young age. its so sad.
