Maintenance schedule for new car

Dear All,

 

Recently bought a new car.

First time so I'm a green horn about servicing

 

I am wondering,

 

At which intervals do I have to send the car for servicing

Used to ride motorbike and it was 1k, then every 5k

 

Also, how much distance do I have to travel to run-in the engine?

Stick to your car manufacturer's recommendation. It's stated in your driver's instruction manual.

Congrats to your new ride Depending on makes, the first servicing is either at 1K or 5K for Jap cars but your manual should have stated it For run in distance is about 1K while at this period of time, you'll try to hover your rpm not exceeding 3K Happy running in your engine

Hi, guys. Need some advice here. I was driving home today & i stopped at the lights. Suddenly, I felt the engine jerk a little as if about to stall & then, it was ok again. It happened really fast & short though & also, first time I felt this. What could be the cause of it? Hopefully nothing major to fix. Help...

Actually, my previous ride (Hyundai Accent) had quite similar problem but the engine & rpm needle jerked quite constantly. Later found out that it was the spark plug cables that needed replacing. That's why now I tend to be quite sensitive to slight jerks.

Mine is the 2001 Toyota Corolla 1.6 GLi & it was last serviced about 2 months ago. But not serviced at BM though.

I remember that the servicing should be 1k follow by 10K and every 10K
