Picantorian Neutral Newbie December 29, 2005 Author Share December 29, 2005 Hi all, I just went to enquire on the charges and the available dates I can enrol to get my bike license.. The counter staff was unhelpful and kept pushing me to sign up for Class 3 instead. Ended up walkiing away disappointed... Went out of the school office and I nearly got knocked down by a learner at the zebra crossing!!! Was a close shave as I thought I nearly migrated to heaven!! Phew~
Icekitten Clutched December 29, 2005 Share December 29, 2005 Hi glad to hear of ur passion. I used to be like you, eager to be a female on a sports bike and even wanted to take up lessons. Until I got into an accident while riding pillion and realised how dangerous biking can be, no matter how careful you are and how fragile life is. It was by a stroke of luck that I managed to escape unscathed. Even the doctors were amazed. Nevertheless, if you truly think it is ur call to learn biking. Go ahead, but be careful. Picantorian Neutral Newbie December 29, 2005 Author Share December 29, 2005 in the end you did not pursue your dream after that incident.. when it comes to biking.. the pillion is always at a higher risk of being flung off the bike and get injured... it hurts most, when the rider escapes with minor injuries.... Icekitten Clutched December 29, 2005 Share December 29, 2005 (edited) Yup, bcoz it is not only going to be my life that I am risking for the thrill but that of my family's. They'll be the ones most affected. My bro is on the roads on his bike everyday and I worry for him just as much too. Too bad I dun have the money. If I have the money, I'd buy a car for him immediately and ask him to sell his bike. Guess it's only after things happen that we realise certain things and learn to treasure what we have. Picantorian Neutral Newbie December 29, 2005 Author Share December 29, 2005 yeah.. that is also 1 of the reasons i could understand why hubby and daddy is so against me getting a license...
Huggable Clutched December 29, 2005 Share December 29, 2005 Which school did you go to? Even if the counter staff wasn't helpful, you can get the brochure from the display shelves. For SSDC, you can enrol online. For Cl2b, the course fee is S$40, theory fee is S$30 (for RTT), excluding GST. Practical lesson fees depends on the timing you wish to book. You can refer to SSDC's fees here: http://www.ssdcl.com.sg/courses/class2B_courseFee.asp If I'm not wrong, the other centres charges the same. Huggable Clutched December 29, 2005 Share December 29, 2005 Maybe I can share my experience. My virgin ride was in a resort island in Thailand, I was there with my wife for honeymoon. We rented a bike to explore the island. We had fun for half a day, but later I was too adventurous and "kup" a corner too low. The road was sandy, and the bike skidded down a ditch. I literally went "flying" on the ground, with my wife on me. The ordeal was made worse when it rained heavily while we were riding back to our resort. (Fresh wounds + heavy rain). Managed to get medical treatment along the way. We got the bike repaired, returned it, and rented a jeep instead. I signed up for my bike lessons a week after we returned to SG. Huggable Clutched December 29, 2005 Share December 29, 2005 Didn't know CDC counter staff are so "terok". You can actually sign up online for SSDC, and CDC (just found out). Visit cdc.com.sg. Maybe you don't have the "rider look"? Even so, no reason for the counter staff not to help. Course fees for CDC here: http://www2.comfortdrivingcentre.com.sg/cd...?id=6#coursefee

Picantorian Neutral Newbie December 29, 2005 Author Share December 29, 2005 yeah.. he agreed to letting me take the license.. i took a long time persuading him.. is more than words that I used.. I had to prove to him that I am sensible enough to take care of myself... even though I know that it not only depends on me, but other road users.. but i had to do my fair share before I could talk about others...
