Mercur1al Clutched November 7, 2005 Share November 7, 2005 No...not a question on how whether it works or not, but rather, on its installation. Mostly seen 2 different ways of installing it (location, not tubes its connected to), one right at the end of the engine bay, one at the front of it. With the installation of it at front, the pipes need to be extended all the way in front, vs a shorter hose if you install it behind. Will it cost a decrease in effectiveness, since the air now has to travel a bigger round? Also, considering using micro compressors with it. Think it'd work? ↡ Advertisement
Mercur1al Clutched November 7, 2005 Author Share November 7, 2005 As a gauge, let me attach photos to it. The part circled in blue contains a Superione ST-555 underneath it. It's there cause there's no other place it can be, lack of space blah blah. I suspect its taking in hot air though, any suggestions where it should go to? the part circled in red is where people normally install capsule. Yc86 Clutched November 7, 2005 Share November 7, 2005 micro compressors? don't think they can beat the engine's 'bigger compressor' they may even end up as a hindrance and slow things down... btw how does a capsule work? is it installed in the vacuum line? = same as the superione? always thought these 'fuel savers' actually make your engine run 'leaner'.. cos they introduce more air inside your mixture, but after the sensor so they won't be compensated for. thus the mixture becomes leaner, leading to better FC and a slight increase in power. but a slightly leaner mixture would lead to a slightly higher operating temperature and 'shorten' the engine life? unless since most manufacturers tune the stock engine to 'rich' to prolong the life.. then if u add these and the mixture becomes 'optimum'. feel free to correct me if i'm wrong... mi still a noobie
Mercur1al Clutched November 8, 2005 Author Share November 8, 2005 dun worrie, i'm a noobie too keke. it sort of draws air into the capsule, and when you need it urgently, for example braking hard, the air is supplied from there. so its quicker than if you draw the air all the way through the tubes...keke ↡ Advertisement
