Anyone can recommend a good amplifier for the ICE?

 

I want to upgrade my ICE but the first step I want to make is the amp.... budget reasonable lah... no more than $400.

I saw in malacca.... 600W amplifire... RM$138... but alot of them say... bull sxxt one... the power rating is PMPO.... not actual RMS.... yet to confirm. But what makes u think that just by adding a amplifier would make things better?

Aiyah, 600W for just RM138 is like telling you Diamond ring for just $100.

I was just toying with upgrading the ICE and I thought logically, the amp should be the first to be inserted. What is your opinion?

Anyone knows of any CLASS A amplifier that is cheap and good?

 

My house Hi-Fi amplifiers are all Class A : one vacuum tube amplifier and a MF A1 amplifier... but not sure how much for a ICE Class A.

Ok ok..... i feel that all those ICE things we have here are really over priced... so i always believe that there are cheaper alternatives..... can we all try to find some options for all of us? Put it this way... if we just get the RM$138 amplifier... it's not up to our standard.... but it's 50% or 70% .... isn't it not bad liao.... i'm considering it more of like.... just try try lor.... if it turns out to be good.... bingo!!

You can try POWER AMPER. Class A amp. I got mine at Jimmy Mobile.

Yeh!! Glad that somebody back me up.... i have always feel that car audio equipment are overpriced by the local shops here.... they are just unwilling to lower the price down.... what i feel is that they are all cheap stuffs....

If you like my car ICE, I can help you to find the cheapest setup.

 

 

1. Get a good HeadUnit to power up the speakers ($400)

2. Replace your front speakers with new ones that come with Tweeters. ($500=$600)

3. Get a AMP from Sim Lim Tower (400watts - S$130)

4. Get a woofer (JBL ones about $300+)

5. Workman and cabling ($70)

6. Circuit Breaker for your CAR ICE (S$40)

Ok, sound very clear... in the past... i feel that the sound is not so good... and just realised that i'm judging it while playing the radio... after i start playing my CDs... it's sound much better. Will ask more of u to verify for me in the next MCF meet up...

Class A Amplifier quite hot to run, so where do you hide it?

I assume hiding the amp under your seat is not advisable since circulation not good enough?
