Recently I change out my 5yr old stock spark plug cables with performance 9.5mm cables. I'm on Denso IK16 Iridium plugs.

I was told by a friend & another mechanic that Iridium plugs works best with stock cables..

Any1 has input...Anyway my engine seems to be smoother..now monitoring FC

Performance spark plug cables are make from very low electrical resistance materials and therefore will allow more Kilovolts from the coil or ignitors to reach the spark plugs resulting in more powerful sparks. Low resistance will creat more interferance to the radio freguency. Many cars ,I understand such as Saab even Nissan specify the use of certain make of spark plugs that have resistance of about 1,500 ohms so that the plugs will fire correctly at nano-second in order to get the best combustion and also will not creat interference to the RF. Use other non-specified plugs you will end up ridding a horse.

Even with stock cables, Ir plugs can still fire. My advice to all is this. Continue using your stock cables until they start to give you trouble like voltage leaks or material degradation. FYI, cables last only 10yrs. COE car owners look out for old cables. New car owners, keep using the stock ones.
