Personally, not so impressed with Mazda 2's build quality. At my carpark, I see one where the gaps between the joints don't seem to be uniform throughout. Different case for Mazda 6 though, perhaps from different plant.

On the Swift, heard that the drive is not so good. My apologies if I offend anyone in here. However, was at the Tokyo Motorshow and saw the 1.6L 125bhp Swift. Looks too beautiful with big tyres and twin exhausts.

i have test drive swift. the ride is good enough for me as i am not a racer boy. Yes i agree that the Swift Sport (125 bhp) looks even better.

Have not test drive Mazda2 SP yet. Note that i am talking about Mazda2 SP, which i believe the first batch was on the road in Aug, not the old Mazda2 i am talking about. The FC according to Mazda club was impressively at 12-14 average, with some people hitting 15+ km/L. According to suzuki club forum, average FC is around 12-13km.

Some stats on both car

Swift (1.5L)

Max power : 101 bhp @ 6000 rpm

Max torque : 133 Nm @ 4000 rpm

Curb weight : 1050 kg

Mazda2 SP (1.5L)

Max power : 111 bhp @ 6000 rpm

Max torque : 141 Nm @ 40000 rpm

Curb weight : 1064 kg

I was infact impressed by its power and torque for its 1.5L engine. Both weights around the same, which explains why M2 SP has a better FC infact.

As for build quality, Swift was totally from Jap, SE told me, which i find the build quality not bad. Have not seen the Mazda2 SP. Will take a look soon, maybe later in the afternoon and have a test drive. Just wanna have some first hand feedback if any1 has tested drive or own 1. or has infact tested the above mention both cars.
