Guardsboy Neutral Newbie December 6, 2005 Share December 6, 2005 Sorry are the new Civics made from Thai or Japan ?
Gnoikj Neutral Newbie December 6, 2005 Share December 6, 2005 I believe by "made", you are asking where its assembled and not the origin of its parts/components... Its made in Japan...
Guardsboy Neutral Newbie December 6, 2005 Share December 6, 2005 Thanx. So you are implying that the parts are mostly from Thai ?
Gnoikj Neutral Newbie December 6, 2005 Share December 6, 2005 I'm not implying anything..just stating that the parts are mostly global!!! I thnk its economical sense...cheaper to make them in 3rd world countries and then assemble them in japan...
Willam Neutral Newbie December 6, 2005 Share December 6, 2005 totally agreed , not just Honda civic, BMW , Merc , Audi , Toyota etc. also the same. Part are globally maufacture. Use to work in automotive industry ( Not selling car :) )
Ravinged 5th Gear December 6, 2005 Share December 6, 2005 (edited) Recently there was a documentary in Discovery Channel about Toyota manufacturing plant, about the entire design process to lab tests, before making the demo and finally the production of parts, before delivery to Thailand for the final assembly. It's just like a watch, where they either state "Swiss Parts" ... or "Swiss Made". Two different context altogether. Ravinged 5th Gear December 9, 2005 Share December 9, 2005 (edited) The cool cars will never arrive on our shore. That's a fact I have learn to live with. They can't even accept a more environmental friendly diesel sedan on our roads ... let alone cool cars. Raymansg 1st Gear December 12, 2005 Share December 12, 2005 Does the 1.8 VTI-S or 2.0 have any climate control ? Very hard to search for this info especially from UK websites because they have like 10 ++ versions over there. By the way, anyone with a link that shows more of the interior of the car ? The Honda link shows only the exterior and the front.
Ravinged 5th Gear December 12, 2005 Share December 12, 2005 (edited) You can try this website. http://automobiles.honda.com/models/model_...ic+Sedan&bhcp=1 I believe this is the US version of the 2006 Honda Civic. I also believe that our local ride does not comes with climate control. If I am not wrong, climate control only comes with higher models like Accord or Odyssey. I could be wrong. Accordvtec should be the best person to tell you more about the 06 Civic. Take note that our local rides also comes with lesser accessories and features. So the best site for you to look at is Kah Motor locally. http://www.honda.com.sg/flash.htm Ed Edited December 12, 2005 by Ravinged ↡ Advertisement
