No really... probably about half a sec... after it turn red... still ok... if u turn left at that junction... only 1 camera will get u.. which should still be ok.

Red-light systems typically have two induction-loop triggers positioned under the road near the stop line (more on this later). This is usually in the left 2 lanes (if there's a third lane and there's a turning signal, that lane will not be included [sly] )

If a car sets off a trigger when the light is red, the computer takes two pictures to document the violation. The first picture shows the car just on the edge of the intersection and the second picture shows the car in the middle of the intersection.

So if the light is red, and the right most lane is also a turning lane, you could avoid triggering it by using that lane [sly] .... but be careful... a TP could catch you and the fine/demerit points may be worst [shakehead][thumbsdown]

Best to slow down at traffic junctions [nod]

But if you stop your car behind the white line, then slowly inch pass the juntion (red on your side), the slow movement would not trigger the triggers under the road and you get to "beat" the red light without the camera catching you in action.

I have tried it before and it works.

yes that would help alot man! din realize lta have ever considered them, any link to this news?... i notice even in most malaysia roads have them (even up in ipoh), it can also help in anticipating moving off time as the waiting time at the junctions are so long - 99secs

the traffic junction at singapore island country club is the worst. if its amber u better jam ur brakes.. got cases whereby you thought you can charge past the amber light.. but it actually takes pictures at amber lights... dun play with that junction..
