Hi Guys

Any good wheel cleaner solution to recommend for cleaning rims? I am looking at the Black Magic and Amourall wheel cleaner ? Are they good , make your rims shine?

I hear one bro here used Black Magic cleaner and got his rims de-coloured [shakehead]

stay away from those rim cleaners! juz polik them regularly and brake dust & road gunk will wash away wif water.

I'm using Meguiars wheel cleaner and so far the results is great! Cos my rims always full of brake dust, so need wheel cleaner to better clean it. After using the wheel cleaner, the rims look brand new.....

Sometimes I would use leftover car shampoo to wash the rims.

Just my opinion.......... smile.gif

if the rim surface is protected wif polik, you can get the same results without using harsh cleaners. it's similar to body paintwork, strong mama lemon can oso get stains out but if protected by polik, dirt would not stain easily and water is good enuf.

Trust me, use WD40. Have been using that and it works wonders. Spray on tissue and wipe your rims with it after the wash. Brilliant finish and helps you maintain the condition of the metal.

I think for most japanese cars can just use normal car shampoo to wash yr rims...I normally use the remaining car shampoo to wash rims after I had finished with the car body...hehe...no need waste $ to buy cleaning solution for rims..

unless u driving continental cars which is very prone to have brake dust on yr rims..den maybe rims cleaning solution is a wise choice to maintain yr precious rims...kekeke

i have tried the Armourall foaming rim cleaner.

So-So only. After spraying still need to use left over shampoo water and sponge to get rid of the grime. [thumbsdown]

I recommend using left over shampoo water to clean rims. And use another piece of sponge.

but wd40 is oily isn't it? any side effects? tempted to try..got a can of wd40 sitting somewhere in my house

No, you dont spray directly on the rims or the disc brakes bro.

After washing your rims with normal soap and water, dry your rims. Then, spray WD40 on a tissue towel, and use the WD40-soaked tissue/towel to coat the rims with the WD40 layer.

I have used it since day one and it has not affected the brakes at all. In fact, it helps to maintain the condition of the metal of your rims too.
